Presented by Oracle NetSuiteWhen Evan Goldberg started NetSuite in 1998, his vision was radically simple: give entrepreneurs access to their business data anytime, anywhere. At the time, most enterprise software lived on local servers. As an entrepreneur himself, Goldberg understood the frustration intimately. "I had fragmented systems. They all said something different," he recalls of his early days. NetSuite was the first company to deliver enterprise applications entirely through web browsers, combining CRM, ERP, and ecommerce into one unified platform. That breakthrough idea pioneered the cloud computing and software-as-a-service (SaaS) era and propelled supersonic growth, a 2007 IPO, and an…
Now in its 26th year, the event brings teams of middle and high school students to the lab to compete with home-built contraptions. Teenagers wielding power tools and plywood demonstrated their engineering prowess at the annual Invention Challenge at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California on Friday. Also in evidence: lots of small motors, 3D-printed gears, PVC pipe, and duct tape. First held at JPL in 1998, the event pits middle and high school teams against each other as they try to get handmade devices to accomplish a task that changes annually. For this year’s challenge, dubbed the “Bucket…
Why you can trust TechRadar We spend hours testing every product or service we review, so you can be sure you’re buying the best. Find out more about how we test. Earlier this year, I tried out the Hinomi H1 Pro and was genuinely impressed by how well the chair performs. Now, with the H2 Pro, the team at Hinomi has taken what was great about the H1 Pro and upgraded a few key features.First, they increased the number of adjustment points from 16 to 19, adding three more. Second, they reworked their lumbar support. Third, they updated and upgraded…
OnePlus is unveiling the 15R on December 17 along with the Pad Go 2 and Watch Lite. Ahead of that, today the company has officially confirmed the 15R’s battery capacity – it’s 7,400 mAh, the largest ever in a OnePlus phone sold outside of China (the recently announced Ace 6T holds the record inside of China with its 8,300 mAh cell). This battery will support 80W SuperVOOC wired charging. The battery is said to keep at least 80% of its initial capacity after four years of use. It uses 15% silicon content inside its anode. OnePlus has previously revealed that…
Model providers want to prove the security and robustness of their models, releasing system cards and conducting red-team exercises with each new release. But it can be difficult for enterprises to parse through the results, which vary widely and can be misleading. Anthropic's 153-page system card for Claude Opus 4.5 versus OpenAI's 60-page GPT-5 system card reveals a fundamental split in how these labs approach security validation. Anthropic discloses in their system card how they rely on multi-attempt attack success rates from 200-attempt reinforcement learning (RL) campaigns. OpenAI also reports attempted jailbreak resistance. Both metrics are valid. Neither tells the…
OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman—perhaps the most prominent face of the artificial intelligence boom that accelerated with the launch of ChatGPT in 2022—loves scaling laws. These widely admired rules of thumb linking the size of an AI model with its capabilities inform much of the headlong rush among the AI industry to buy up powerful computer chips, build unimaginably large data centers, and re-open shuttered nuclear plants. As Altman argued in a blog post earlier this year, the thinking is that the “intelligence” of an AI model “roughly equals the log of the resources used to train and run it”—meaning you can…
Sendy Audio has revealed its latest pair of planar magnetic headphones, the Egret, blending a newly engineered nano-scale diaphragm with the company’s trademark handcrafted wood design. As shared by Sivga, the centrepiece of the Egret is a custom 98 × 84mm planar magnetic driver, the largest and most ambitious the company has built to date. It uses a composite diaphragm measuring under 800 nanometres, allowing for faster response times and tighter control over movement. Sendy’s Electron Beam Evaporation Deposition process is used to apply ultra-fine aluminium circuitry directly onto the diaphragm at the atomic level, a manufacturing approach that aims…
With affordable prices and increased compatibility, there’s never been a better time to invest in a smart home ecosystem. While many lament subscription-based smart home products, there are plenty of viable alternatives that cut out recurring charges altogether. It’s easy to find offline, subscription-free home security cameras that put the user in control of how they’re used. In fact, I’ve been using one such camera for the past two years—the TP-Link Tapo C125. On paper, the Tapo C125 is an excellent security camera. It retails for under $50, supports local recording with a microSD card slot, and integrates with the…
Andrew Grush / Android AuthorityTL;DR Starlink filed new trademarks, including “Starlink Mobile” and “Powered by Starlink”, covering cellular communication services and delivery of video and data to mobile devices. The filings follow Starlink’s growing telecom activity, including its T-Mobile satellite partnership and recent acquisition of terrestrial spectrum from EchoStar. None of this is too surprising, as Musk had previously stated that Starlink may eventually offer full cellular service, though he suggested it was likely a ways off at the time. Starlink has been transforming the way people connect to the internet for over six years now, and during that time…
Three years ago, Chat GPT was born. It amazed the world and ignited unprecedented investment and excitement in AI. Today, ChatGPT is still a toddler, but public sentiment around the AI boom has turned sharply negative. The shift began when OpenAI released GPT-5 this summer to mixed reviews, mostly from casual users who, unsurprisingly, judged the system by its surface flaws rather than its underlying capabilities.Since then, pundits and influencers have declared that AI progress is slowing, that scaling has “hit the wall,” and that the entire field is just another tech bubble inflated by blusterous hype. In fact, many…
