Asus ROG Xbox Ally X: Two-minute reviewWhen the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X (and its less powerful, slightly more affordable ROG Xbox Ally) handhelds were announced earlier this year, it came as a bit of a surprise. For years, there had been rumors that Microsoft was working on an Xbox-focused handheld games console. The success of Nintendo’s handheld/home console hybrid Switch (and its follow-up, the Switch 2), plus the emergence…
It’s funny how much real estate goes to waste on a full-sized keyboard. The numpad takes up a big chunk of space, yet for many of us, it serves no real purpose. Sure, it’s indispensable for anyone who lives in Excel or crunches numbers all day, but if you’re not one of those people, it’s largely useless. For years, I ignored it completely. It was like a side annex of my keyboard that I never visited. There were seventeen perfectly good keys just sitting there, doing almost nothing, and it felt wasteful. So, I decided to put them to some…
This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available.Just a little over a month since Apple announced the iPhone 17 series, the Cupertino-based company is back at it again with new products, this time announcing new iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, and Vision Pro models. All three of Apple’s new devices are powered by Apple’s latest M5 chipset, which the company says has “the world’s fastest CPU core” and offers performance gains across the board. Overall, the design of both the M5 iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, and…
The Dfinity Foundation on Wednesday released Caffeine, an artificial intelligence platform that allows users to build and deploy web applications through natural language conversation alone, bypassing traditional coding entirely. The system, which became publicly available today, represents a fundamental departure from existing AI coding assistants by building applications on a specialized decentralized infrastructure designed specifically for autonomous AI development.Unlike GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or other "vibe coding" tools that help human developers write code faster, Caffeine positions itself as a complete replacement for technical teams. Users describe what they want in plain language, and an ensemble of AI models writes, deploys,…
The skies above us are teeming with satellites. The latest figures estimate there are over 12,000 satellites currently active, with thousands more defunct craft left to decay in orbit. All that activity has caused numerous complications for astronomers and researchers alike, interfering with radio telescopes with “unintended” radiation leaks. Now it turns out that they’re also contributing to a massive leak of personal, corporate, and government data, as researchers at UC San Diego and the University of Maryland were alarmed to discover. First reported by Wired, the joint study uncovered glaring holes in satellite security enabling “anyone with a few…

Spotify announced on Tuesday that it’s making Managed Accounts, a shared account feature that allows parents to control what their children listen to, available to users in more countries. Managed Accounts are now rolling out in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, Germany, France, and the Netherlands following a pilot launch last year. Managed Accounts are available to Spotify Premium Family plan members and allow account holders to manage a separate music-only listening experience for their kids under the age of 13. Since these accounts are separate, your kids’ music choices won’t impact your algorithm or show up in your annual…
I’m at GITEX Global, Dubai, one of if not the biggest tech exhibition in the world. All the big names that you would expect are here, Microsoft, AWS, Google, and of course most are talking about AI. And, part of that conversation is energy. Is there enough, where do we get it from, and how do we get it to where it needs to go? Greg Jackson, Co-founder and CEO of Octopus Energy is here as a speaker to go over those things and just before he got on stage, we grabbed a coffee.I met Greg just outside the speakers…
Voice AI company ElevenLabs is now letting authors publish AI-generated audiobooks on its own Reader app, TechCrunch has learned and the company confirmed. The announcement comes days after the company partnered with Spotify for AI-narrated audiobooks. ElevenLabs, which raised a $180 million mega-round last month, started inviting authors to try out their publishing program through their app on a trial basis last year, TechCrunch previously spotted. That program is newly open to all authors as of today. Home » Science » SpaceX Heat Shield and Starship Mass Production SpaceX removed about 72 tiles in 18 key locations for Starship Flight 11 and there was no catastrophic failure. This could allow SpaceX to optimize the heat shield and remove 10-20% of tiles over lower heating areas. SpaceX will choose to remain extra cautious but they can eventually reduce heat shield tiles. SpaceX is scaling up to making 1000 heat shield tiles per day which will be enough to reach a mass production target of 10 Starships per month. Brian Wang is a Futurist Thought Leader and a popular…
