DJI Osmo Pocket 4 camera allegedly spotted in the wild

Vloggers and tech enthusiasts all around swear by DJI’s Pocket line of gimbal cameras, and for good reason. The rumor mill has been buzzing for some time now with leaks of an upcoming new Pocket 4 model, now that the current Pocket 3 will be turning three years old near the tail end of this year.

Previous leaks have hinted at a dual-lens design with a secondary zoom camera, akin to a recent Insta360 leak and more crucially, the dual camera systems on some of DJI’s drones. However, this latest leaked short hands-on video shows a very familiar design with a single lens, but still some notable changes here and there. That dual-lens design might still become a reality as a Pocket 4 Pro. Compared to the current Pocket 3 (which we coincidentally happen to have in front of us), the alleged Pocket 4 seems to have a longer stem, also a mysterious “C” button and what seems to be a zoom button. The flip-action display seems unchanged, and so does the overall gimbal setup on top. Though crucially, there is what appears to be an LED light attached to one of the gimbal joints, and as far as we know, there is no such accessory available for the current Pocket 3. Especially not one that appears official, with “OSMO” writing on the back. Of course, there are other encouraging things to note regarding the video’s authenticity, like the “POCKET 4” text on the side of the unit.

The source of the video is a site called “thenewcamera.com,” and allegedly, the video itself was captured inside a DJI-authorized store in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, after a person just walked into the store carrying a Pocket 4. It’s a pretty far-fetched story, but it would not be the first time early footage of unannounced DJI tech comes out of Malaysia.

Anyway, unfortunately, the video only briefly focuses on the software side of the camcorder. The overall UX seems mostly unchanged and familiar. However, we do get to see a new “SuperPhoto” 33MP mode for stills. An earlier Amazon Denmark listing for the unannounced Pocket 4 has suggested it will retain a 1-inch camera sensor, but go beyond the Pocket 3’s capturing capabilities and offer 4K@240fps instead of the current 4K@120fps limit. Perhaps a bigger battery is also in the cards, which coincides well with the taller stem. That Amazon listing also suggested a retail price between $550 and $700, depending on which bundle you get. That’s what buyers in Asia and Europe can likely expect. Unfortunately, the price will most likely be higher in the US due to tariffs, and that’s assuming DJI can even sell the Pocket 4 in the US, or it happens to fall under the “foreign-made drones” ban.
