    Introduction

The Xiaomi 15T is here to carry the T-series torch for late 2025, and while it’s technically the “vanilla” entry of the duo, it is anything but stripped down. Xiaomi’s T-models have long been about offering a balance of performance and features that approach flagship territory without demanding full flagship pricing, and the 15T follows that formula closely.

    Xiaomi 15T review

At first glance, you might struggle to tell the 15T apart from its Pro sibling. Both share the same slim 7.5mm profile, IP68 protection (now rated for 3m submersion), and a 6.83-inch AMOLED display capable of 3,200 nits of peak brightness, with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support. The refresh rate is capped at 120Hz instead of the Pro’s higher ceiling, but for most use cases and games, that’s hardly a practical downgrade. Gorilla Glass 7i on the front and a reinforced glass fiber back keep things looking sharp and durable, even if the frame remains plastic.

Under the hood, Xiaomi opted for MediaTek’s Dimensity 8400 Ultra, paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and speedy UFS 4.1 storage. It may not have the Snapdragon 8 Elite found in Xiaomi’s top flagships, but it promises plenty of horsepower and comes with a new Astral Communication feature that enables offline device-to-device messaging over distances up to 1.3km. Xiaomi’s IceLoop cooling technology, on the other hand, should maintain higher sustained performance.

Xiaomi 15T specs at a glance:

    • Body: 163.2×78.0x7.5mm, 194g; Glass front (Gorilla Glass 7i), plastic frame, glass fiber back; IP68 dust-tight and water resistant (immersible up to 3m for 30 min).
    • Display: 6.83″ AMOLED, 68B colors, 120Hz, 3840Hz PWM, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, 3200 nits (peak), 1280x2772px resolution, 19.49:9 aspect ratio, 447ppi.
    • Chipset: Mediatek Dimensity 8400 Ultra (4 nm): Octa-core (1×3.25 GHz Cortex-A725 & 3×3.0 GHz Cortex-A725 & 4×2.1 GHz Cortex-A725); Mali-G720 MC7.
    • Memory: 256GB 12GB RAM, 512GB 12GB RAM; UFS 4.1.
    • OS/Software: Android 15, HyperOS 2.
    • Rear camera: Wide (main): 50 MP, f/1.7, 23mm, 1/1.55″, 1.0µm, PDAF, OIS; Telephoto: 50 MP, f/1.9, 46mm, 1/2.76″, 0.64µm, PDAF, 2x optical zoom; Ultra wide angle: 12 MP, f/2.2, 15mm, 120-degree , 1/3.06″, 1.12µm.
    • Front camera: 32 MP, f/2.2, 21mm (wide), 1/3.44″, 0.64µm.
    • Video capture: Rear camera: 4K@30/60fps, 1080p@30/60/120/240/960fps, gyro-EIS, 10-bit Rec. 2020, HDR10+; Front camera: 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60fps, HDR10+.
    • Battery: 5500mAh; 67W wired, PD3.0, 100% in 50 min.
    • Connectivity: 5G; eSIM; Wi-Fi 6e; BT 6.0; NFC; Infrared port.
    • Misc: Fingerprint reader (under display, optical); stereo speakers (with Dolby Atmos); Circle to Search.

The camera setup mirrors what we saw on the previous generation: a 50MP wide, a 50MP 2x telephoto, and a 12MP ultrawide – all enhanced by Leica Summilux optics and Xiaomi’s new AISP 2.0 computational pipeline. There’s no 8K video capture, which remains a Pro-exclusive, but the 15T offers 4K60 HDR10+ and even 10-bit Log recording, features that will satisfy most creators.

Battery life should be another strong suit thanks to the large 5,500mAh cell, though charging speeds top out at 67W. That’s slower than the Pro’s 90W and Xiaomi’s ultra-flagships, but still enough to fully recharge in under an hour. Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, an IR blaster, and the latest HyperOS 2, based on Android 15, complete a well-rounded offering.

    Xiaomi 15T review

The Xiaomi 15T may not grab headlines with bleeding-edge specs like 8K video or 144Hz displays, but it delivers an upper-midrange experience at a lower price point. Despite the launch price of €650, the phone can already be found for less than €500 with third-party retailers, positioning itself as a strong value alternative to the Pro and Xiaomi’s pricier number-series flagships, with very few compromises along the way.

    Unboxing

The Xiaomi 15T comes in a pretty basic white two-piece cardboard box. It feels quite sturdy and should protect the phone well during transit. There is a cardboard cradle for the phone itself, and from what we can tell, the packaging contains essentially no plastic, which is great to see.

    Xiaomi 15T review

Our European unit ships with the new EU energy label. It gives the Xiaomi 15T an A efficiency class, with an estimated 57:44 hours of battery endurance. The device also receives an “A” for drop resistance, a “C” for repairability, an IP68 ingress protection rating, and a 1600 charge cycle rating for the battery.

Don’t expect an overly abundant accessory package. Still, you do receive a nice, soft TPU case in the box, along with a Type-C to Type-C USB cable. No charger was included in our package, which is standard in the EU. However, it’s best to check with your local retailer, as you may be eligible for one.
