At its grand Unpacked event in San Francisco, Samsung launched the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra, and all three are running One UI 8.5 based on Android 16. The company has been beta testing One UI 8.5 on its previous-generation flagships, the S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, for quite a while now, and today a new build has been released.
Following up on the fifth beta, which came out exactly one week ago, the sixth beta is now here for those who are enrolled in Samsung’s beta program. The latest build identifies as ZZAO.

It fixes a bunch of issues related to Bixby, sketch conversion in Gallery, Now Bar and Now Brief text and icons, a force close when changing camera settings, and the lock screen style changing. Animations related to notification cards have been improved.
The update arrives on the units in the beta program as a 568MB download, and includes the February 5, 2026 security patch level. Now that the Galaxy S26 family is almost in stores, we could hopefully see a quick release of the update to One UI 8.5 for the S25 devices. This, in fact, might just be the last beta. Only time will tell.
