This week we’ll look at a grab bag of phones, focusing mostly on higher end devices, though there are a few mid-rangers in here too.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is $50 less than it was last week. There is already One UI 9 beta available for testing (based on Android 17) – the US is one of the select few regions where Samsung conducts early tests. The new version will bring accessibility improvements, new security features, better controls for the Quick Panel and so on.

It’s early for an official “save the date”, but we expect that the next generation of Galaxy foldables will be announced on July 22. This means that the Galaxy Z Flip7 is getting replaced soon, though you can’t quite tell by its price – it’s $200 off, which is the same as two weeks ago and the same as early April too.

    Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7

The cheaper Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 FE kind of disappeared after launch. It’s still around, it’s just not in the spotlight – but if you want a cheap clamshell foldable and it has to be a Samsung, this is the one. The launch price was quite ambitious – $1,000 for the 256GB model – but the $400 discount makes it more palatable.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 has a big discount as well, $350, though that makes a smaller dent in its high base price. Maybe wait a couple of months and see whether the rumored Galaxy Z Wide is a better fit for you.

Last week, Motorola’s new flip foldables were still on pre-order – they went on sale this week, however, supplies seem to be limited as only some of the color options are showing up as “in stock”. That’s on Amazon – check out Motorola US’ offers, which include free Moto Buds 2 Plus and Moto Tags.

For our money, last year’s Motorola Razr Ultra 2025 is still the one to get if you are going with a Moto clamshell.

The Samsung Galaxy A37 is $75 off – that’s the same discount as last week, but we wanted to highlight it since this cheap phone won our selfie video blind test. We say “cheap” because some of its competition costs six times as much (said competition included the S26 Ultra too).

If you want to take a break from the big smartphone brands, the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus 15R are currently $50 off. That’s not much, admittedly, but these two were already competitively priced.

Another alternative brand for the US market is Nothing. The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro currently has a $50 discount but only for the base 128GB model. At these prices, you’re better off with the Nothing Phone (3) – while it was never quite a flagship, it has higher-end hardware than the (4a) Pro.

Finally, Sony introduced its new premium over-ear headphones this week, the Sony 1000X The ColleXion (which the company assures us is pronounced “collection”). We have a pair in for review and we will report how they compare to older generations like the XM6 and XM5 soon. Speaking of which, those two are on sale.

We may get a commission from qualifying sales.
