This is the nextbigfuture GDP PPP forecast scenario, not an IMF, Anthropic, or consensus forecast. It took the Anthropic economic forecasts for their base case and their bullish case. I then aligned national data for Taiwan and other countries as of this year. I then used OpenAI GPT 6 to build the scenario where AI productivity takes off and where physical with robotaxi, robotrucking and humanoid bots take off.
This version is where purchasing power parity is considered. Previously, I did based on nominal exchange rates.
Something to remember is that in WW2, the US sustained 18% annual GDP growth for about four years with the spending and productivity from military mobilization. China had 8% to 14% annual GDP growth for over 20 to 30 years from 1980 to about 2010.
USA takes back the GDP PPP lead around 2034. Korea and Taiwan are just behind China and India and ahead of Japan.
