Samsung first announced its AI smart glasses back in July and we even got some hands-on time with them. However, they are still nowhere to be seen – the latest rumor (not even official info) is that they will launch in November. Now, thanks to SammyGuru, we can have a look at the different designs that Samsung’s partners from Gentle Monster and Warby Parker have created.

Even better, there are finally some details about the hardware – the initial announcement only mentioned that the glasses run Android XR on a Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chipset. This chip is apparently paired with 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The battery inside the glasses can last up to 9 hours, which extends to up to 72 hours with the charging case.

These smart glasses do their work using a camera – there’s a 12MP sensor capable of capturing video at 3K 30fps – and using audio. There are four mics in total plus two open-ear speakers. The glasses will work with Gemini AI (which is a multi-modal AI, meaning it understands both photos and spoken commands). They can read out messages, do real-time translation, snap photos of a whiteboard and file that into your Notes app and more.

The glasses (but not the case) are rated IPX4 (basically, they’ll survive some rain). The glasses should work with any Android or iPhone, not just Galaxy devices. However, there may be some features that are Galaxy exclusive. There might be some regional variations too, e.g. supporting Naver Maps in South Korea.

The weight is reported as 41g with the standard lenses, though we imagine this might be a few grams off depending on the specific design you pick.

Gentle Monster has designed six frames that are available in a total of sixteen versions with different color and lens combinations. You can see them above. Next up is the other eyewear brand that Samsung tapped to design the glasses.

Warby Parker has three styles named Alden, Reid and Wren. That last one only comes in Jet Black, the others have a couple colors to choose from – Pine (dark green) and Saddle (dark red). Each of the three models can be had with clear or with dark lenses for a total of 10 versions.

Well, “can be had” may prove to be misleading – apparently, the Gentle Monster designs will be sold in South Korea and the US. However, the Warby Parker designs might only be available in the US, at least during the launch period. There’s no word on other countries. When they do become available, the glasses will be sold through Samsung Experience Stores and through the websites and stores of their respective designers.
