INmune Bio (Nasdaq: INMB) and Quantum Computing Inc. (Nasdaq: QUBT) announced they are working togther to run INmune Bio’s clinical and preclinical data on XPro (XPro1595) through QCi’s Dirac-3S quantum optimization machine, combined with AI and conventional analytics.
XPro is INmune Bio’s investigational dominant-negative TNF drug designed to selectively block soluble TNF (a driver of neuroinflammation) while leaving membrane-bound TNF intact. They have data from preclinical work plus four clinical trials andares advancing it toward a Phase 2b/3 adaptive program in early Alzheimer’s with an inflammation-enriched population. It also holds FDA Fast Track designation.

The Stage 1 work focuses on finding other diseases that share the same biology XPro has already shown activity against, with an emphasis on rare diseases where smaller, faster trials are possible and a pediatric approval could yield a Priority Review Voucher. The companies will also look for biomarkers that predict response. They plan to compare the quantum optimization results against standard statistical and machine-learning methods to test where the quantum approach adds value.
This is QCi’s first commercial customer in the pharmaceutical/biotech sector. The agreement includes options for additional work as INmune Bio’s programs advance.
Most near-term quantum for drug discovery efforts remain early and focused on specific optimization or sampling tasks rather than general advantage. QCi’s Dirac-3S is a room-temperature photonic entropy quantum optimizer, not a general-purpose superconducting or trapped-ion system. Whether it produces actionable new indications or biomarkers beyond what conventional methods already extract from the same datasets will be the practical test of the partnership.
