Apple charges £429 for the 128GB iPad, but Tesco is selling the exact same tablet for £100 less.

Over at Tesco, the Apple iPad (A16) Wi-Fi 128GB has dropped from its £429 RRP to £329, a £100 saving that works out at 23% off what you would pay buying directly through Apple’s own store.

Apple iPad (A16) drops to £329 at Tesco, £100 less than Apple

With the A16 chip and an 11-inch Liquid Retina display, the Apple iPad (A16) Wi-Fi 128GB is down to £329 at Tesco, a £100 saving.

Keeping £100 back means the money can go towards an Apple Pencil, a keyboard case or a few months of streaming, turning a single tablet purchase into something much closer to a complete setup from day one.

And that setup has plenty of room to grow, because the iPad (A16) starts at 128GB rather than the 64GB older entry-level iPads were stuck with, leaving space for apps, offline film downloads and a term’s worth of school documents.

Everything stored there runs on the A16 Bionic chip, paired with 6GB of RAM and a 16-core Neural Engine. In practice, that means Live Text can lift a phone number straight out of a photo or paused video, ready to paste wherever you need it.

Pasting gets easier still with Split View running two apps side by side on the 11-inch Liquid Retina display, its 2360 x 1640 resolution and 500 nits of brightness keeping notes, browser tabs and spreadsheets sharp enough to work across for hours.

Working for hours feels more natural once the Magic Keyboard Folio clicks into place with its trackpad and function row, while the Apple Pencil (USB-C) turns the same screen into a sketchpad where Math Notes solves handwritten equations as you write them.

That flexibility carries over to video calls, with the 12MP front camera sitting on the long landscape edge and Center Stage panning and zooming to keep you centred on FaceTime, Zoom or Google Meet, even widening when someone joins you.

Once the call ends, Touch ID in the top button unlocks the iPad (A16) with a single press, and the dual stereo speakers give films and playlists a proper sense of width when you prop it up on the sofa.
