SteelSeries is launching the second generation of its mid-range Arctis Nova 7 wireless headset today and it comes with a 40% improvement to its battery life, leaving you go longer between charges.

The Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2 line is said to run for up to 54 hours on a single charge, with a quick top-up giving you around six hours in 15 minutes – easily making it a contender for our best gaming headsets list.

    What’s new?

In addition to a boosted battery, the Nova 7 Gen 2 comes with “real-time audio control” through the app, which tweaks the audio automatically for 200+ games. You’ll also have the option for simultaneous audio through 2.4GHz and Bluetooth, meaning you can juggle in-game sound and a phone call with relative ease.

The Deodymium magnetic speaker drivers deliver spatial audio, while the ClearCast Gen 2 microphone, which can be retracted back into the headset, offers clear comms.

    Small upgrades that add up

Then Gen 2’s battery is by far the star of the show, but the quality-of-life changes overall make this a nice little upgrade from the original.

The three variants of the headset the Nova 7 Gen 2 for PC, 7P Gen 2 for PlayStation, and 7X Gen 2 for Xbox, are available today for £179.99 / $199.99 /€199.99 in black, white, or magenta.
