Nothing introduced the Android 16-based Nothing OS 4.0 last month and released its first Open Beta for the Nothing Phone (3), Phone (2), Phone (2a), and Phone (2a) Plus earlier this month. The Nothing Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro were left out, but the Nothing OS 4.0 Open Beta is finally available for these smartphones.

Nothing OS 4.0 Open Beta brings the new Nothing icon design to the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro, as well as a “Stretch” Camera preset developed in partnership with photographer Jordan Hemingway.

Nothing says “this preset enhances photos with deeper shadows and extended highlights for a distinctive, cinematic look straight from the Camera app.”

Additionally, Nothing OS 4.0 Open Beta comes with Lock Glimpse, which displays high-quality wallpapers on your phone’s lock screen. Lock Glimpse groups these wallpapers into nine categories, and it can also display “timely updates” and “useful content designed to enhance your experience” on the lock screen.

In the future, Lock Glimpse will let you display your photos on the lock screen. Nothing said this will happen soon without getting more specific.

    Nothing Phone (2)

The rest of the features in the Nothing OS 4.0 Open Beta for the Phone (3a) series remain the same as in the previously released Open Beta.

    Nothing Phone (2a)

Those interested in trying Nothing OS 4.0 Open Beta can head to the Source link below for installation instructions, but note that you’ll have to do that by November 7, as you won’t be able to join the beta program after this date.

It’s also worth noting that beta builds aren’t as stable as official builds and often contain bugs that can hamper the user experience, so it’s best to avoid installing beta software on your primary device.
