Announced two weeks ago, Oppo’s Find X9 duo is already on sale in China and will be available globally from early November. Will you be buying one?

Weekly poll: will you buy an Oppo Find X9 or X9 Pro once they launch globally?

The Oppo Find X9 Pro will retail at €1,300 for a 16/512GB unit. In our review, we praised the phone’s improved camera performance and noted that it topped our battery life chart. You can also watch our video review for more details on the phone.

It is, perhaps, most evenly matched with the vivo X300 Pro, which just launched in Europe earlier this week. There’s also the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, but that doesn’t quite have the camera performance and battery life of the Oppo – and we don’t even know whether it will be available globally.

The Oppo Find X9 will start at €1,000 for a 12/256GB unit. It’s a bit smaller than the Pro (6.59” vs. 6.78”), though the difference between the two isn’t as big as the one between the vivo X300 and X300 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max.

We don’t have a full review yet, but you can get a closer look at the Find X9 in our hands-on from a couple of weeks ago. The vanilla model uses the same Dimensity 9500 chipset as the Pro and has a fairly large battery – 7,025mAh, compared to 7,500mAh for the Pro. With the smaller screen, the vanilla model might just beat the Pro and become the new leader of our battery chart.

That’s something to test once we get into the review. Also the cameras – there are some improvements over the X8 (e.g. a 50MP 1/1.4” sensor with an f/1.6 lens, compared to 50MP 1/1.56” f/1.8 on last year’s model), but the telephoto camera is the same.

Let’s start with the impressive but pricey Oppo Find X9 Pro – we keep hearing how people want longer battery life and it’s hard to get better than this. And the phone doesn’t sacrifice performance, display quality and certainly not image quality. But it all comes at a cost – is it worth it?

What about the Oppo Find X9 – it’s cheaper, though we hesitate to use the word “cheap” for something that costs €1,000. Is the mid-sized build something that appeals to you or do you want the vanilla X9 for the lower price tag? Or are you skipping the X9 in favor of another phone?
