Samsung Galaxy A77 is on the way, Geekbench reveals

Samsung’s last device in the Galaxy A7x line was the A73, which launched in 2022. After that, this part of the A series has been dead, but now it looks like the company is getting ready to revive it with the Galaxy A77.

A prototype A77 has been spotted in the Geekbench online database, with 8GB of RAM, Android 16 on board, and a mystery chipset that’s related to Samsung’s Exynos 2400 and 2400e but based on the CPU clock configuration, is lower-end than both of those.

Samsung Galaxy A77 is on the way, Geekbench reveals

This SoC has a CPU with three Prime cores clocked at up to 2.78GHz, three performance cores clocked at up to 2.3GHz, and four efficiency cores clocked at up to 1.82GHz. So it’s still deca-core like the Exynos 2400 and 2400e, but its CPU clocks are lower than what we’ve seen in both of those.

That’s probably fitting of an upper-midrange, but not quite flagship (or flagship-adjacent) device. These could very well be lower-bin Exynos 2400 family chips that Samsung has lying around, and why not put them to some good use?

None of the other specs of the Galaxy A77 have been outed so far, but if it’s launching alongside the A57 (which also performed its own Geekbench run earlier today) then it’s probably going to arrive around March and we’re destined to hear much more about it until then.
