    The Xiaomi 17 Ultra went official in China yesterday. Alongside it, the company also announced new products including the Watch 5. Xiaomi’s new smartwatch offers a circular AMOLED display, a dual-chip architecture, and is claimed to deliver up to 6 days of battery life.

    Xiaomi’s Watch 5 features a stainless steel case that houses a 1.54-inch circular AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 60Hz, 480×480-pixel resolution, and up to 1,500-nit brightness.

    The smartwatch gets a synthetic sapphire crystal glass on the front (display) and on the back. It weighs 56g without the strap and is 12.3mm thick. The Watch 5 offers 5ATM water resistance and runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3.

    It features a dual-chip architecture, which includes the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 SoC paired with a Hengxuan 2800 low-power chipset.

    As for fitness and health tracking, the smartwatch offers continuous heart rate tracking, ECG, SpO2, stress monitoring, sleep tracking, and supports over 150 sports modes. You also get full-color offline maps and other features for running.

    The Watch 5 packs a 930mAh battery and is claimed to offer up to 6 days of battery life with normal usage. It is said to last for up to 18 days when used in power-saving mode.

    The ECG sensor in the smartwatch can also be used for navigation. It can detect hand muscle signals and perform actions such as answering calls, dismissing alarms, taking photos remotely, controlling music playback, and more.

    In terms of connectivity, the Xiaomi Watch 5 offers Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, and even eSIM support.







    The Watch 5 is available in silver or black case colors with a bunch of strap options. You can choose between a rubber strap, a leather band, or a 3D-printed titanium strap made with TC4 titanium alloy.

    Coming to the pricing, the smartwatch with rubber strap is priced at CNY 1,999 ($285). The leather straps are only available on the eSIM variant of the Watch 5, which costs CNY 2,299 ($330). Meanwhile, the 3D-printed titanium strap is CNY 799 ($110) and is sold in black and silver colors to match the watch case.
