The US government deployed xAI’s Grok to give dietary advice — and it’s giving some eyebrow-raising advice. “Use Grok to get real answers about real food.” Until very recently, that was the message on the Trump administration’s just-launched website for its new protein-centric dietary guidelines, RealFood.gov, which was announced in a Super Bowl commercial starring Mike Tyson. And what better harbinger to spread the good word than xAI’s Grok, Elon Musk’s AI chatbot best known for glazing its creator, styling itself “MechaHitler,” and generating nudes of real women and children? But alas: the site’s message now says to “use AI”…

Why you can trust TechRadar We spend hours testing every product or service we review, so you can be sure you’re buying the best. Find out more about how we test. Miofive Mirror 1: two-minute reviewWhile I’ve tried plenty of the best dash cams on the market, I’ve spent less time using one of the alternatives – a mirror dash cam, such as the Miofive Mirror 1 Dash Cam. It’s a chunky hunk of kit, being designed to fit over a standard issue rear view mirror, using one of three different mounting options. It can be strapped, stuck or screwed…

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is not only retaining its crown of the most popular phone in our database, but it’s also starting to build a lead now that its official announcement is approaching. The second place has another interesting and allegedly imminently coming name – the Apple iPhone 17e. The most affordable member of Apple’s lineup is reportedly going official next week. We then have the Galaxy A56 in third and the Galaxy S25 Ultra in fourth, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max makes it a top half of the chart entirely dominated by Samsung and Apple. Samsung Galaxy…

XAI Grok 4.20 will include enhancements like improved multimodal capabilities (text, images, video), reduced hallucinations via fact-checking tools, advanced reasoning modes, superior AI trading performance, and boosts in coding, math, and real-world tasks. It aims for better overall intelligence over 4.1. Heavy use of real-time X (Twitter) data is a key differentiator. In the Alpha Arena trading competition (where an early Grok 4.20 checkpoint dominated), it ingested the X Firehose (~68 million English tweets/day) for ultra-low-latency sentiment-price signals (1–5 minute horizon). This is more inference-time advantage than pure pre-training data, but xAI’s access to X’s full firehose likely feeds into…

The news that we (pretty much) told you last year is now done and dusted. HBO Max is coming to the UK, and it’ll be wrapped up into a nice shiny bow for Sky customers as part of its Ultimate TV subscription when it goes live in March. This is a boon for Sky customers (new and existing), as it keeps hold of the Warner Bros. content that’s not just legendary but become synonymous with Sky for decades now. Its partnership with Warners brought the likes of Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, Entourage (remember that?) and Girls to the UK,…

NASA’s Carbothermal Reduction Demonstration (CaRD) project completed an important step toward using local resources to support human exploration on the Moon. The CaRD team performed integrated prototype testing that used concentrated solar energy to extract oxygen from simulated lunar soil, while confirming the production of carbon monoxide through a solar-driven chemical reaction.  If deployed on the Moon, this technology could enable the production of propellant using only lunar materials and sunlight, significantly reducing the cost and complexity of sustaining a long-term human presence on the lunar surface. The same downstream systems used to convert carbon monoxide into oxygen can also be adapted to convert carbon dioxide into oxygen and methane on…

Apple’s next major iPhone update may quietly deliver one of the most practical upgrades users have been asking for: better battery life. While much of the spotlight this year is expected to shine on artificial intelligence, iOS 27 is shaping up to be just as much about cleaning house as it is about adding flashy new features, as revealed by Mark Gurman in the latest edition of Bloomberg Power On Newsletter. A smarter, leaner iPhone experience When Apple rolls out its operating system updates this fall, it will be juggling two major priorities. The first is the integration of AI…
