Deepfake is a technology that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to create highly manipulated media. The media created by Deepfake can be image, audio, or video, and falls under the category of synthetic media. Since Deepfake technology often uses artificial neural networks, such as Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) or Diffusion Models, media generated by Deepfake is […] This article How to identify Deepfake Videos first appeared on TheWindowsClub.com.
Robert Triggs / Android AuthorityAnother week, another problem with USB-C charging. Perhaps I’m just having a worse time than most, undoubtedly due to the sheer number of gadgets on my desk at any given time, but plugging in my new OPPO Find X9 Pro had me pulling my hair out. It’s been a while since I’ve actually struggled to get a modern flagship to start fast charging. Like any normal person, I took my new Find X9 Pro out of the box and tried plugging it into my existing charger setup. That went OK, if not a little slow (more on…
Artificial IntelligenceThere Is Only One AI Company. Welcome to the BlobSteven Levy | Wired ($)”Even the most panicked Cassandra of a decade ago likely didn’t imagine that advanced AI would be controlled by a single, interlocking, money-seeking behemoth. …This rococo collection of partnerships, mergers, funding arrangements, government initiatives, and strategic investments links the fate of virtually every big player in the AI-o-sphere. I call this entity the Blob.”TechEurope Is Scaling Back Its Landmark Privacy and AI LawsRobert Hart | The Verge”Under intense pressure from industry and the US government, Brussels is stripping protections from its flagship General Data Protection Regulation…
I’ve dabbled in the world of Android for years – 2012’s HTC One XL was one of the first Android phones I truly fell in love with, even as everyone around me was fawning over the iPhone 4S. That’s all well and good – competition drives innovation, after all – but there were a few issues when trying to communicate with my Apple-based brethren, especially in the early days. These ranged from small issues like not having access to iMessage, which had launched to much fanfare the year before, to bigger issues like not being able to send photos and…
There are so many streaming options nowadays that have, in my opinion, completely eclipsed Netflix when it comes to content that justifies ballooning prices. What was once the premium destination for streaming just hasn’t been able to keep up. I actually think there’s an argument to be made that Apple TV+ has become the new home for prestige TV offerings, especially considering how many excellent sci-fi shows it has invested a lot of money in. But I also wouldn’t count Netflix completely out yet, either. December is poised to be a big month for the company, with a ton of…
I’m constantly trying to find ways to do things more efficiently, especially when it comes to research. I don’t have a ton of time in the day for personal agendas and wish I had more time to read — I used to read about a book a month. Nowadays, I can barely find time to read two books a year. Finding ways to streamline my learning has been a struggle, but that’s what led me to use NotebookLM in the first place. NotebookLM is a terrific tool for learning more about topics. You can create your own database to pull…
Large language models (LLMs) have astounded the world with their capabilities, yet they remain plagued by unpredictability and hallucinations – confidently outputting incorrect information. In high-stakes domains like finance, medicine or autonomous systems, such unreliability is unacceptable. Enter Lean4, an open-source programming language and interactive theorem prover becoming a key tool to inject rigor and certainty into AI systems. By leveraging formal verification, Lean4 promises to make AI safer, more secure and deterministic in its functionality. Let's explore how Lean4 is being adopted by AI leaders and why it could become foundational for building trustworthy AI.What is Lean4 and why…
A video game executive has sparked a fierce debate surrounding the widespread use of generative AI in the industry by claiming that “Gen Z loves AI slop.” In a recent tweet, interactive video game company Genvid CEO and former Square Enix director Jacob Navok said that “for all the anti-AI sentiment we’re seeing in various articles, it appears consumers generally do not care.” Navok pointed to the “biggest game of the year,” called “Steal a Brainrot,” which, as its name implies, is filled with AI slop characters. The game, which is based on the extremely popular online gaming platform Roblox,…
Oppo unveiled the K13 Turbo and K13 Turbo Pro in China in July and later introduced them in India. We haven’t heard from Oppo about the launch of the K15 series yet, but reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has shared key specs of an unannounced smartphone that could be the Oppo K15 Turbo Pro. According to DCS, this unannounced mid-range smartphone, featuring a “waterproof” and “theoretically dustproof” cooling fan for active cooling, is powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC. That’s why many believe it’s the K15 Turbo Pro since the K13 Turbo Pro also had a cooling…
Spotify is making it easier for users to make the switch from other streaming services. On Thursday, the company announced an integration with TuneMyMusic, a tool that can transfer playlists from other streaming services into users’ Spotify libraries. The new feature, which is rolling out now to all Spotify users, will be found in the “Your Library” section of the Spotify mobile app. To use TuneMyMusic, you’ll scroll to the bottom of the page, then tap on the new option to “Import your music” and follow the prompts to connect with the service.
