Smart plugs, smart bulbs, and Echo speakers—I’ve had all of it for years. And for most of that time, I treated the whole setup like a glorified light switch that responded to my voice. This image from NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope released on Feb. 10, 2026, reveals a dramatic interplay of light and shadow in the Egg Nebula, sculpted by freshly ejected stardust. Located approximately 1,000 light-years away in the constellation Cygnus, the Egg Nebula features a central star obscured by a dense cloud of dust — like a “yolk” nestled within a dark, opaque “egg white.” It is the first, youngest, and closest pre-planetary nebula ever discovered. (A pre-planetary nebula is a precursor stage of a planetary nebula, which is a structure of gas and dust formed from the ejected layers of a dying, Sun-like…

Illustration by Tag Hartman-Simkins / Futurism. Source: Getty Images When the Federal Aviation Administration announced it was shutting down El Paso Airport this morning, social media lit up with speculation. Had freedom-hating terrorists planted anti-aircraft weapons in the desert? Was the government covering up an early-stage zombie apocalypse with El Paso as ground zero? Or had the Trump administration perhaps started firing high-energy laser weapons into the sky without bothering to tell anyone? The answer, impossibly, seems to be door number three. According to CBS News, the bizarre airspace closure came under orders from FAA administrator Bryan Bedford. Apparently, Bedford…

Our heroes (such as they are) found themselves in New Vegas, a dilapidated shell of the city it once was, but still full of people who love a good bet. Will they return order to the wasteland? Will the Ghoul (Walton Goggins) find his family? We won’t get the answers to those questions for a good long while, since producing a new season of a show this complicated takes time. But in the meanwhile,…
