Adobe on Tuesday announced the release of patches for 52 vulnerabilities across 10 products, including critical-severity bugs that could lead to code execution and privilege escalation. More than half of the weaknesses Adobe addressed this month could be exploited for arbitrary code execution. Application denial-of-service (DoS) was the second most common type of resolved issue. When it comes to the severity of the resolved vulnerabilities, the Adobe Connect update takes the lead. It addresses two critical-severity flaws that could be exploited for arbitrary code execution (CVE-2026-34659, CVSS score of 9.6) and privilege escalation (CVE-2026-34660, CVSS score of 9.3). This month’s update…
Sign up to see the future, today Can’t-miss innovations from the bleeding edge of science and tech Even if you don’t know Nick Bostrom’s name, you’re almost certainly familiar with the idea he’s most famous for. Back in 2003, when he was at Oxford, Bostrom penned an influential philosophical paper with the incredible title of “Are You Living in a Computer Simulation?” Loosely speaking, his argument was that sufficiently advanced civilizations will eventually build sophisticated simulations of their own ancestors — and that, given enough time in the simulation, those simulated beings will develop their own simulation inside the simulation,…
If you have a Google smart display or speaker at home, there are new updates you should know about. Google has rolled out a fresh batch of improvements to Gemini for Home, making the assistant noticeably smarter and faster across smart speakers and displays. Gemini for Home is getting smarter and more personal Google The most interesting addition is how Gemini now uses information you’ve saved in Ask Home to answer camera-related questions. If you’ve saved a note saying your nanny’s name is Alice, you can ask Gemini when Alice arrived, and it will pull up the relevant camera footage…

Over 170 packages across multiple high-profile NPM and PyPI projects were compromised in a new, coordinated Mini Shai-Hulud software supply chain attack. The campaign hit 42 TanStack packages, 65 UiPath packages, Mistral AI’s PyPi packages, the OpenSearch JavaScript client, over a dozen Squawk packages, the Guardrails AI PyPI package, and other popular modules. TeamPCP, the infamous hacking group that orchestrated several supply chain attacks across multiple open source software ecosystems over the past few months, was blamed for the campaign. Dead-drop commit branch names used in the attack are taken from Frank Herbert’s Dune saga, and the malware’s repositories have…
Home » Quantum computers » Quantinuum Helios With 98 Physical Qubits and 50 Logical Qubits The Helios platform is now available to customers through Quantinuum’s cloud service and on-premises offering. It has 98 Physical Qubits and 50 logical qubits with very low error rates. Launched Nov 2025, Quantinuum trapped-ion, Helios system is in a fully entangled GHZ state. They are fully error-corrected logical qubits at a ~2:1 physical-to-logical encoding rate using their Iceberg code (only ~2 ancilla qubits per logical block). These outperform raw physical qubits. This is among the highest demonstrated logical counts and the best real-hardware efficiency to…
Last week three upcoming members of vivo’s X500 family were spotted in the GSM Association’s IMEI database: the X500, X500 Pro, and X500e. But there’s a plot twist: it turns out that there’s a fourth member coming this year too (before the X500 Ultra will presumably arrive in early 2027). Ladies and gentlemen, vivo is going the Pro Max route, following in the footsteps of Xiaomi, which of course was ‘inspired’ by Apple. The aforementioned IMEI database now lists the vivo X500 Pro Max too, and thus that’s also definitely coming. According to one past rumor, the X500 Pro Max…
Netflix is home to a great many terrific comedies, movies and TV shows alike. That includes original series like Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, I Think You Should Leave, and Grace and Frankie, shows that are native to Netflix and you’ll never be able to get anywhere else. But none of those shows have become pop culture phenomenons. In the age of the streaming wars, where there are as many platforms as there are fans to watch, perhaps nothing can. But streamers like Netflix can pilfer pop culture phenomena from the past. That’s what happened in 2021, when Netflix secured the rights…
Mishaal Rahman / Android AuthorityTL;DR A Reddit user gained early access to a “Gemini Omni” model within the Gemini app, described as Google’s new AI video generation tool. Early tests show impressive logical reasoning in a math-themed video, though a more complex dinner scene revealed common AI glitches, such as objects appearing out of thin air. Metadata suggests the model is an extension of Google’s “Veo,” and user reports indicate it carries heavy usage limits on the Google AI Pro plan. Google I/O 2026 is next week, and we’re already seeing glimpses of upcoming features. Gemini users have spotted the…
For the first time, Google has identified a zero-day exploit believed to have been developed using artificial intelligence. The company published a new report on Monday summarizing its observations on the use of AI in the cyber threat landscape, drawing on data collected recently by Gemini, Google Threat Intelligence Group (GTIG), and Mandiant. One of the most notable findings is that a prominent cybercrime group leveraged AI to develop a zero-day exploit designed to bypass two-factor authentication (2FA) on an open source web-based system administration tool. The exploit was implemented in a Python script. The hacker group and the targeted…
