How U.S. Military Captured Nicolás Maduro. The CIA infiltration with stealth drones seems to be the main element of several important elements.

Inside Operation Absolute Resolve (January 3, 2026)

On January 3, 2026, U.S. special operations forces executed Operation Absolute Resolve, a daring nighttime raid that resulted in the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro from the heavily fortified Fort Tiuna military complex south of Caracas. The operation combined months of intelligence preparation, cyber warfare, precision airstrikes, and a high-risk helicopter assault by Delta Force operators.

    How the Raid Unfolded

    Phase 1: Shaping Operations (August–December 2025)

CIA teams were secretly inserted into Venezuela and used drones to track Maduro.

They built detailed “pattern of life” intelligence on Maduro using stealth drones and human sources.

By late 2025, his location was narrowed to Fort Tiuna, a mountain-integrated base with concrete gates, pillboxes, guard towers, and an estimated 5,000 elite troops.

    Cyber & Electronic Preparation

Starting in mid-December, U.S. Cyber Command planted malware in Venezuelan power and communications infrastructure.
On the night of the raid, a nationwide power blackout was triggered, crippling radar, communications, and base defenses.

    The Assault (January 3, 2026 – 2:00 a.m. local time)

Missile strikes from 20 U.S. bases and ships hit targets across Caracas and surrounding states.

11 helicopters from the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Night Stalkers) launched from the USS Iwo Jima off the Venezuelan coast.

MH-47G Chinooks and MH-60L Black Hawks flew low (≈100 ft) over the Caribbean, then 10 miles inland under fire. One helicopter was damaged but remained operational.

Delta Force operators (embedded with FBI Hostage Rescue Team agents) fast-roped or landed at Fort Tiuna.

They breached Maduro’s on-base residence and panic room using explosive charges, buzz saws, and insider intelligence.
A Direct Action Penetrator helicopter provided close air support with miniguns and Hydra rockets.

Maduro and his wife were zip-tied, blindfolded, and extracted alive to avoid the appearance of an assassination.

Massive Air Campaign for Air Supremacy

    Approximately 150 U.S. aircraft (F-22 Raptors, F-35s, F/A-18s, B-1 Lancers, etc.) conducted simultaneous strikes.

Targets included S-300 air defense systems, radar sites, air bases, armored vehicles, and strategic ports.

Anti-radiation missiles, electronic jammers, and precision-guided munitions destroyed key defenses.

Satellite imagery later confirmed large sections of bases were flattened.

    Why Resistance Was So Ineffective

Several theories explain the weak response from Maduro’s forces.

Overwhelming U.S. firepower and air dominance.

Maduro’s extremely low approval ratings (10–20%) amid economic collapse.

Possible negotiated surrender (some opposition sources claim Maduro knew the raid was coming and agreed to it).
    High-level betrayal within the regime.

Advanced U.S. helicopter countermeasures (directed infrared systems) defeated Igla man-portable missiles.

No American combat fatalities were reported, though some operators sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

    Aftermath & Political Situation

President Trump announced the U.S. would temporarily “run” Venezuela through a naval oil blockade until a stable transition occurs.

Delcy Rodríguez was sworn in as acting president. She is reportedly cooperating privately but publicly defiant.

Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello called for resistance against terrorist enemies.

Public reaction in Venezuela is mixed. Some celebrate Maduro’s fall, others express anger at perceived American imperialism, and many hope sanctions will be lifted to improve the economy.

    Legal Questions

Unlike previous high-profile captures (Saddam Hussein, Manuel Noriega), this operation was conducted without congressional authorization or prior notification, raising significant questions about legality under U.S. and international law.Maduro now faces narcotrafficking charges in New York federal court.

Eyewitness Reports of Sonic / Directed Energy Weapons

Multiple Venezuelan soldiers and a guard reported severe symptoms during the raid, including

    Nosebleeds
    Vomiting blood
    Intense headaches
    Temporary paralysis

These accounts have led to speculation about the use of non-lethal directed energy or sonic weapons by U.S. forces. While no official U.S. confirmation exists, the claims have been widely reported.
