YouTube Premium is about to get a major upgrade in 2027 thanks to Peacock — and the best part is, it won’t cost you anything extra.

YouTube and NBCUniversal recently announced a new multi-year partnership that will bring the ad-supported version of Peacock Premium to YouTube Premium subscribers in the US starting in early 2027 at no additional cost.

That means if you’re already paying for YouTube Premium, you’ll soon be able to watch live sporting events, TV shows, and movies from Peacock without having to add another monthly subscription to your bill.

Currently, YouTube Premium costs $16 per month in the US, after Google raised the price from $14 to $16 per month back in April.

Subscribers to YouTube Premium Lite, which costs $9 per month, won’t have access to this Peacock Premium perk.

“YouTube Premium brings your favorite creators, artists and cultural moments together uninterrupted, and now, we’re pairing that ultimate viewing experience with Peacock’s expansive lineup of live sports like Sunday Night Football and the NBA, blockbuster Universal movies, and original series,” said YouTube CEO Neal Mohan.

In addition to announcing its deal with NBCUniversal, YouTube also revealed that it will introduce new “international bundles” to YouTube Premium in the near future for users outside the US who won’t have access to Peacock.

For YouTube Premium subscribers in the US, YouTube says it will also offer users the option to upgrade their Peacock membership, including the ability to move to Peacock Premium Plus, which removes ads.

Additionally, as part of the agreement, NBCUniversal will begin streaming select live sporting events on the NBC Sports YouTube channel, making them available to all users for free.

This isn’t the first time NBCUniversal has teamed up with another company on a bundle deal. Apple TV subscribers can already get a Peacock bundle for $15/month, which is only $2 more than the regular $13/month price for Apple TV. Walmart+ subscribers can also choose between Paramount+ and Peacock as part of their membership.

There’s no exact launch date yet for when ad-supported Peacock Premium will be added to YouTube Premium, though it’s expected to arrive in “early 2027.” Unfortunately, that means YouTube Premium subscribers still have quite a wait before they can take advantage of this new perk.
