Beyerdynamic has expanded its professional audio line-up with the launch of the DT 275 PRO, a new pair of compact on-ear monitoring headphones designed for creators, engineers and production crews.
These users need to make accurate audio decisions in noisy environments. Priced at €119, the new model joins the company’s PRO series as one of its most affordable options.
Rather than targeting casual listeners, the DT 275 PRO is built for professionals working on film sets, live events, mobile editing rigs and DJ booths. In these places, background noise can make it difficult to monitor audio accurately. Beyerdynamic says the headphones deliver 22dBA of passive noise isolation. As a result, users can focus on the audio without relying on active noise cancellation.
The headphones feature a closed-back, on-ear design with dynamic drivers covering a 5Hz to 24kHz frequency response. They have a 45-ohm impedance, making them suitable for use with a range of professional audio equipment. Meanwhile, they weigh just 195g for extended listening sessions.
Beyerdynamic has also focused on portability with earcups that fold inward for easier transport, while the included 1.5-metre cable can be attached to either the left or right earcup and locked securely in place.
Moreover, that flexibility should help camera operators, front-of-house engineers and content creators keep cables out of the way. This can be especially helpful during fast-moving productions.
Comfort has also received attention, with faux leather ear cushions and a soft headband designed for long recording or editing sessions. Importantly for professional users, the ear pads and other cushion components are fully replaceable. Therefore, studios and production teams can extend the headphones’ lifespan and replace worn parts instead of the entire headset.
According to Martin Stahl, Director of PRO Audio Products at Beyerdynamic, the DT 275 PRO was designed to eliminate the usual compromise. Specifically, it addresses the balance between portability, sound isolation and neutral monitoring.
Beyond its compact design, the headphones offer a maximum sound pressure level of 125dB SPL and 0.03% total harmonic distortion at 1kHz. They also ship with both 3.5mm and 6.35mm jack connections, alongside a drawstring carry bag.
The Beyerdynamic DT 275 PRO is available from July 28 through Beyerdynamic’s online store and authorised retailers for €119.
