Pluto TV just added 5 more free live TV channels to its lineup this month

Do you remember a time when it felt easy to stream your favorite movies and TV shows? I sure did, but that was before it all became so expensive. Nowadays, every major platform, from Netflix to HBO Max to Apple TV, is forcing people to spend a lot of money to access its services. If you subscribe to all of them at once, paying for streaming can cost you a fortune.

Fortunately, there are multiple ad-supported streaming services that deliver content to audiences free of charge. Pluto TV, in particular, has succeeded in offering viewers thousands of films and shows on demand. This can give viewers an easier way to stream some of their most beloved movies and shows. On top of that, Pluto TV lets audiences pick from a variety of live channels, many of which focus on streaming episodes of a specific TV series.

Like many other streaming services, Pluto TV continues to evolve and improve. According to Cord Cutter News, the platform has expanded its roster by adding five new live channels this August, giving viewers more content to stream without any pay or sweat.

Pluto TV has over 400 free channels

As of 2025, Pluto TV has over 400 live channels, according to Cord Cutter News. This all but guarantees that viewers have zero shortage of programs to watch. Pluto TV continues to expand its extensive digital library by adding these five new channels:

    • Pluto Royal Drama
    • El Rey Rebel
    • Ghosts
    • Pluto Quirky AF
    • Pluto Action/Drama

Pluto Royal Drama features historical and contemporary stories following monarchies and the personal and political conflicts they face. El Rey Rebel shares stories about independent, rebellious characters. Pluto Quirky AF offers eccentric, unconventional comedies, while Pluto Action/Drama streams heart-pounding, character-driven shows and films.

Ghosts, on the other hand, is a channel dedicated to streaming episodes of the supernatural sitcom of the same name. First airing in 2021 on CBS, this Astra Award-winning comedy series follows a couple who move into a house haunted by ghosts from different eras in American history. With the show’s sixth season set to premiere in October 2026, audiences can easily catch up on what they’ve missed on Pluto TV.

Everything on Pluto TV is available to stream in web browsers, on Android and iOS phones and tablets, and on streaming sticks and boxes like Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, and Android TV. It can also be accessed on smart TVs from manufacturers like Sony, LG, Vizio, and Hisense. Gamers can even watch Pluto TV on their PlayStation or Xbox console.

You don’t even have to register an account to watch Pluto TV. However, having an account allows you to save your favorite channels, create your own watchlist, and resume watching on-demand content where you left off.

What channels can you watch on Pluto TV?

There’s so much to choose from

Pluto TV on an LG TV.

Pluto TV features hundreds of channels on the Live TV page. Though the list of available channels may depend on the region you’re streaming in, there’s a little something for everyone to watch. There are even channels reserved for popular shows like Ridiculousness, Tosh.0, America’s Funniest Home Videos, Gunsmoke, The X-Files, and The Walking Dead. My personal favorites include The Twilight Zone, Star Trek, Law & Order, I Love Lucy, Cheers, and Frasier.

Pluto TV also offers a variety of news stations, including CBS, NBC, ABC, and CNN, with some networks specifically covering New York, Los Angeles, and Texas. There are even channels for network TV icons like Comedy Central, BET, AMC, Spike, and MTV.

At the moment, Pluto TV doesn’t offer the original content exclusive to platforms like Netflix or Apple TV. And while its digital library is smaller than other ad-supported platforms, Pluto TV still offers plenty of classic films and TV shows for viewers to enjoy. Did I mention it is all free? Sounds like a great deal.
