Plex just added 4 new free live TV channels to its streaming lineup

While Plex has historically been known as a media server app, the service made a hard pivot into the world of FAST (free ad-supported TV) back in 2019, and has quickly become a leader in this space, now boasting a massive lineup of over 600 always-on live-streaming channels. Though competitors like The Roku Channel, Pluto TV and Tubi are perhaps better known in the FAST streaming world, Plex’s sheer volume of channels (which is the largest of any other free app, easily beating out The Roku Channel which has 500+ channels) has made it an important part of the streaming media landscape.

Fortunately for fans of this platform, it looks like Plex isn’t slowing down with its new channels and has expanded its free live television lineup once again for October, with four newly available channels that specifically appeal to fans of reality TV.

No matter whether you’re into cooking, personal development, or dark, paranormal history, this month’s update to Plex’s ever-expanding list of channels has something for everyone. Here’s the full list of new channels, per Cord Cutter News:

    Real Emergency

Featuring clips from the YouTube channel of the same name this channel focuses on incident response and public-safety coverage with short, digestible stories based on archival footage of rescues, traffic collisions, medical calls, and coordinated emergency operations. This channel also has educational segments that explain procedures used by first responders.

    GrowthDay

The GrowthDay Network pulls content from the app of the same name and features highlights from Brendon Burchard’s podcasts, YouTube videos, live events, and more. Topics covered include mental and physical health, relationships, faith, money, business, motivation and more.

    Paranormal Chronicles

If you’re looking for something spooky, this channel features segments from classic paranormal TV series including A Haunting, Death Walker with Nick Groff, Ghost Stories, Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction, Monsters & Mysteries in America, and Sam and Colby. The channel is also set to debut some original content later this year.

    The Great British Baking Show

As one of the most-successful cooking competition shows of the 21st century, it might feel a little overwhelming to get started with The Great British Baking Show. However, this new live-streaming show features highlights from the long-running competition series including signature technical and showstopper rounds, along with shorter recaps and behind-the-scenes material that has been packaged for FAST broadcast.

Plex offers a massive library of free TV, no log-in required

Accessing Plex’s massive library of free live TV channels is super easy, simply download the offical Plex app (available on all major platforms including Roku, Google TV devices, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung TVs, LG TVs, Xbox, PlayStation, Android, and iOS), and then to the Live TV section of the app by selecting the Live TV option from the top menu.

Plex’s live TV guide will then automatically populate and you can search or browse for any of the 600+ channels currently in Plex’s lineup. Like other FAST apps like Pluto TV or Tubi, Plex does not require a login to access. Simply download the app and you can start streaming immediately.

Alternatively, Plex also offers a free web app that you can access here, also with no login required.
