Poco has already launched four phones in its X8 family this year: the X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max in March, then the vanilla X8 and the X8 Power in early September. A fifth one is reportedly coming, and today it moved a step closer to launch. A phone with the model number 2609CPC5FG has been approved by Singapore’s IMDA.
The listing names Poco as the brand and Xiaomi Electronics as the applicant, and it describes the device as a 5G mobile phone with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and NFC. That’s all it says. The same model number has also shown up before in Europe’s EEC and IECEE databases, which didn’t reveal much either.

According to a report from last month, 2609CPC5FG will be sold as the Poco X8s. It’s said to come to Europe, Turkey, Russia, and other global markets, but not India. A Chinese variant with the model number M583CF will allegedly be sold under the Redmi brand. The “2609” part of the model number points to September 2026, so the phone is a bit late by that measure.
Details on the hardware are still thin. The X8s is rumored to have a 50MP main camera, with 0.6x, 1x, and 2.5x zoom steps in the camera app. It’s unclear whether the 2.5x step comes from a dedicated telephoto or just a crop of the main sensor. A Geekbench run for the same model number revealed that it’s powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset paired with 12GB of RAM and runs Android 16. If that’s right, the X8s should be a better performer than the X8, which uses the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4.
Of course, none of this is official yet, and Poco hasn’t said anything about the X8s. Pricing and a launch date are also unknown for now, but with this many certifications behind it, the phone shouldn’t be too far off.
