Samsung Research, along with South Korea’s POSTECH, has published a paper in the journal Nature about a breakthrough in display technology. The company is working on a switchable 2D/3D system that works without glasses and eye-tracking hardware.  The system doesn’t even add meaningful bulk to a display. It is built around what is called a Metasurface Lenticular Lens, an ultra-thin optical layer that’s just 1.2mm thick, made up of nanoscale structures that control how light behaves, and, in the process, how we perceive the light being emitted by the display.  Samsung How does the technology actually work? Though the historic city is known for panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, clear skies have become less common. In recent decades, smoke has increasingly darkened the skies during the dry season, particularly in March and April. A NASA satellite captured this smoky view of the city and the surrounding region on April 22, 2026, when haze partially obscured valleys and ridges typically visible under clearer conditions. Most of the smoke likely comes from small agricultural and forest fires lit to burn off…

The Google search bar is a staple of Android phones, so when I got my S26, I never really questioned it. I could open apps without digging through the app drawer, run quick web searches, and even jump into Google Lens when needed. But once I swapped it out for Samsung’s Finder, I realized how much I’d been missing. Finder doesn’t limit me to just apps and web searches. I can look up content inside apps, pull up contacts, jump straight into settings, and even find documents directly. Having used it for a week, it’s hard to believe this isn’t…
