In August of 2025, Apple TV+ raised its subscription price from $9.99/month to $12.99/month (the yearly price of $99.99, which works out to a little over $8/month, remained the same). With so many streaming services out there, it’s understandable if people looked at that and decided to forego their memberships, or maybe never to start one. But Apple TV+ is quietly becoming one of the best streaming services around, slowly replacing HBO as the home of prestige TV. Its growing library of content more than justifies the price. And I’m not just talking about breakout hits like Ted Lasso, Severance,…

I’m a big fan of Dyson vacuum cleaners. They’re nimble, powerful, and they consistently push boundaries when it comes to innovation. However, the one area where they consistently seem to fall down is comfort. The most recent flagship vacuums are some of the heaviest cordless stick models on the market. And while the older and less tech-packed Dyson options might be lighter, there’s nothing in the way of shaping or padding around the handle, which might boost user comfort.I had a chance to sit down with Dyson engineer Steph Parker to pick her brains about how the company designs its vacuums…

Team members working with NASA’s Curiosity Mars rover created this “postcard” by commanding the rover to take images at two times of day on Nov. 18, 2025, spanning periods that occurred on both the 4,722nd and 4,723rd Martian days, or sols, of the mission. The panoramas were captured at 4:15 p.m. on Sol 4,722 and 8:20 a.m. on Sol 4,723 (both at local Mars time), then merged together. Color was later added for an artistic interpretation of the scene with blue representing the morning panorama and yellow representing the afternoon one. The resulting “postcard” is similar to ones the rover…

Waking up, hopping out of the bed, and stumbling to the kitchen for a cup of coffee: It’s an everyday routine most people don’t think twice about. But for children with spinal muscular atrophy, simply propping themselves up in bed is an everyday struggle. The inherited disease is caused by mutations in the SMN1 gene. Without a working copy of the gene, motor neurons—cells that control muscles—rapidly wither.Symptoms occur early in life. In the most severe cases, six-month-old babies can’t sit up without help. Others struggle to crawl or walk. The disease doesn’t affect learning and other cognitive abilities. Babies with…

Let’s be honest; January is usually a bit of a graveyard when it comes to big ambitions. We start the month promising to run marathons, learn Mandarin and finally understand how mortgages work, but most of that energy usually fizzles out by the time the first Monday back at work hits. I’ve found the most effective way to actually sticking to a resolution is to stop relying on pure willpower and start using apps that lower the barrier to entry. These five apps aren’t going to get the hard work done for you, but they are excellent at making the…

While working, I try to touch my phone as little as possible. This keeps me focused. But the problem is that messaging does not stop just because I am at my desk. And setting up every messaging app on my PC individually means I have to download each app separately and keep them running all the time. So instead, I did something better. I moved all the messaging services I use to Beeper. Now, all my conversations live in a single window, and I don’t have to switch half a dozen apps just to communicate. OS Android, iOS, Windows, macOS,…

Stephen Headrick / Android AuthorityHappy New Year from the team here at Android Authority! I was thinking about the new year throughout December, jotting down ideas and goals as I went. Near the end of every December, I like to sit down and really get into the details of what I want to do the following year, what changes I want to make, and what I hope to accomplish. If you’re like me, it’s extremely helpful to visually track these goals, write them down, and see the progress you’re making along the way. I’ve tried many versions of this over the…

In a now viral video, a man controlling a Unitree robot accidentally made the humanoid kick him right in the groin, forcing him into a groaning heap while painfully and visually embodying the promise and perils of advanced robotics. “Yep, let’s go ahead and train our future AI overlords how to kick ass,” one X user quipped upon viewing the clip, which was originally posted on Christmas Day to the Chinese video sharing website Bilibili. “Maybe we do deserve to become made redundant.” The video opens to the inside of a regular office space in what appears to be China…
