Technology should be simple. It is rarely easy and that isn’t a surprise. But when you hand the controls over to the technology, you’d assume it would make the smartest decisions, right? I could be talking about using a chatbot or LLM to answer questions. Sometimes they get it right and sometimes they get it wrong. I could also be talking about needing to connect multiple hubs just to connect one smart home device to another. There are easier ways around this, but certain devices make it more difficult than others. But what I’m really referring to is ensuring your…

Sign up to see the future, today Can’t-miss innovations from the bleeding edge of science and tech It’s well known that students from grade schools to the big universities are increasingly outsourcing their thinking to large language models (LLMs). The consequences are already measurable: elementary students are losing cognitive skills, leading them to tank their exams. Harder to quantify — but impossible to miss if you’ve spent any time in school lately — is the situation unfolding across classrooms, where students from all layers of society have become empty vessels that parrot the outputs of AI without critically engaging with…

The creator-focused platform is rolling out a string of AI-generated pilots and is letting viewers decide what gets made next, in a bid to reshape how shows are developed and funded. What is Higgsfield launching? Higgsfield today debuted its first pilot episode, Arena Zero, marking the launch of Higgsfield Original Series, a new streaming platform for AI-generated series. Sony’s upcoming Xperia 1 VIII appeared in a set of case renders last week, showcasing a boldly redesigned camera island and a punch-hole cutout display. Well, we now have an updated computer-aided design (CAD) look at the next Xperia flagship, which once again confirms the previously leaked design. This is the second source showcasing a square-shaped camera island housing three camera sensors. The design is reminiscent of the OnePlus 10 Pro, though we should once again remember that these are merely renders and not the phone’s final design. Then again, this is the second source showing said back design. The…

The phone originally made its global debut back in February. The Infinix Note 60 Pro is scheduled to launch in India on April 13. It will feature an active matrix display at the back and is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 SoC, same as the global model. You’ve somehow managed to get your hands on all the components for a brand-new PC, including RAM and storage, hopefully without paying inflated prices. That alone deserves some credit. You’ve put everything together, hit the power button, and the system boots on the first try. At that point, it’s tempting to call the job done. But that would be a mistake. A PC that powers on is not necessarily ready for real-world use. Fresh builds often run outdated firmware, default memory speeds, and untested thermals, all of which can impact performance or stability. There are a few essential post-build steps…
Shimul Sood / Android AuthoritySamsung’s Good Lock app is essentially a playground for customization, yet most people only skim the surface. I was no different, until I stumbled upon a really clever fingerprint trick. After a bit of tweaking, my Galaxy phone now opens apps with my fingerprint sensor — and can even open different apps depending on which finger I use. My left thumb opens Instagram, while my right index finger jumps straight into the Notes app. It’s seriously cool.Want to set this up on your Samsung phone? Here’s what you need to do. Did you know about this Good…
Florida is among the wettest U.S. states, but that doesn’t mean it is drought-free. Nearly all of Florida faced at least “moderate” drought, and nearly 80 percent faced “extreme” conditions in April 2026, according to data from the U.S. Drought Monitor. Unusually dry conditions gripped the state for much of 2025, but the intensity and extent of the drought ratcheted up starting in January 2026. Data from a NASA and German Research Center for Geosciences satellite mission show that the drought has left its imprint on the state’s underground water supplies, which are often tapped for drinking water and farming.…
