California’s attorney general sued the genetic testing company formerly known as 23andMe on Thursday, alleging it failed to protect sensitive user data in a 2023 breach that affected nearly 7 million people across the country. Attorney General Rob Bonta filed the lawsuit against Chrome Holding Co., which 23andMe rebranded under after filing for bankruptcy last March. 23andme is known for its direct-to-consumer DNA test kits that provided customers information on their ancestry and genetic predispositions for certain health conditions. There’s so much you can do with a terminal on any platform. But despite using the command line extensively, I have been avoiding a particular category of productivity tools, and I feel that most people have too. Terminal multiplexers. A terminal multiplexer, essentially, lets you open multiple terminal panes and sessions inside a single terminal window. Xiaomi unveiled the 17T series this week – the two phones cost €100 more than their 15T predecessors, but they also bring in some important upgrades. Starting with the Xiaomi 17T, the phone now features a 50MP 5x/115mm periscope camera to match its Pro sibling. The camera is capable of 30cm macro shots as well as 10x lossless zoom. French cybersecurity startup MokN has raised $15 million in a Series A funding round that brings the total investment in the company to $18 million. Paris-based MokN was founded in 2023 to tackle identity protection differently. Unlike traditional solutions, it plants honeypots within enterprise environments, luring threat actors into revealing compromised credentials.
