The iQOO 15 will be unveiled in China on October 20 and will then get its global launch next month. Ahead of all that, today the brand has officially revealed the full specs of the phone’s screen. Without data, enterprise AI isn't going to be successful.Getting all the data in one place and having the right type of data tools, including connections to different types of databases is a critical aspect of having the right data for AI. There are multiple vendors all vying to be the data platform of choice for enterprises today, with Databricks, Snowflake, Google and Amazon among the big options. Microsoft has increasingly been active in the space with its Microsoft Fabric technology first announced in 2023 and expanded in the years since with data tools to accelerate AI workflows. In 2024, Microsoft claimed…

A number of startups are racing to make vehicle inspections faster, easier, and cheaper. Self Inspection, a startup based in San Diego, thinks it has them all beat with its AI-powered service — and now it has convinced outside investors. Self Inspection, founded in 2021, is set to announce Thursday it’s raised $3 million in a seed round co-led by Costanoa Ventures and DVx Ventures, the firm run by former Tesla president Jon McNeill. Joining the round was Westlake Financial, which handles more than one million vehicle transactions annually. Karim Bousta, partner at DVx Ventures, believes the traditional vehicle inspection…
At the turn of the 20th century, Korbinian Brodmann released one of the most consequential brain maps ever. By studying the humps, grooves, layers, and cells of the cortex—the outermost layer of the brain—he divided the wrinkly tissue into 52 distinct areas.Brodmann’s map was based solely on microscopic images of the brain. Since then, neuroscientists have added a variety of other data types, including high-resolution brain scans, neuron connectivity, and gene expression. In 2016, the human cortex map received a seminal update including multiple datasets. It defined 180 “universal” areas in the human cerebral cortex—far more than Brodmann’s map—many of…

To put it mildly, One UI 8 hasn’t exactly been the most exciting update Samsung has rolled out. Unlike previous versions, this iteration feels more like a steady, incremental update rather than a bold leap forward. In other words, there aren’t many standout features that make you go “wow.” Yet even in a release that feels a bit muted, One UI 8 still offers genuinely useful features worth noticing. They may not make headlines, but they quietly enhance your day-to-day experience. From multitasking improvements to smarter AI tools and stronger privacy controls, these features are worth exploring if you want…
I get the impression that a lot more people are thinking about web browser privacy than they did a decade ago. I don’t have a survey at hand, but considering how widespread news and advice pieces are about the topic — and how often browser makers themselves tout privacy features — there must be some groundswell of awareness. It’s also difficult to ignore the consequences of weak privacy, since pretending that it doesn’t matter will result in obnoxious advertising at best, and a compromised device or identity at worst. It’s actually taken for granted these days that a web browser…
Microsoft is fundamentally reimagining how people interact with their computers, announcing Thursday a sweeping transformation of Windows 11 that brings voice-activated AI assistants, autonomous software agents, and contextual intelligence to every PC running the operating system — not just premium devices with specialized chips. The announcement represents Microsoft's most aggressive push yet to integrate generative artificial intelligence into the desktop computing experience, moving beyond the chatbot interfaces that have defined the first wave of consumer AI products toward a more ambient, conversational model where users can simply talk to their computers and have AI agents complete complex tasks on their behalf."When…
