The Nintendo Switch 2 launched last year at $449.99 in the US, and from September 1 it’s getting $50 more expensive. It will thus be $499.99. The company says it’s doing this “in light of changes in market conditions”. The Switch 2 is also getting CAD 50 more expensive in Canada and €40 more expensive in Europe. In Japan, the hike will go live much sooner, on May 25. Interestingly, Nintendo is also forecasting a drop in Switch 2 sales over the next year, probably connected with the price hike. In the first full fiscal year since it went on…

A threat actor has launched a campaign to clean up environments infected by the infamous TeamPCP hacking group and deploy its own malicious tools, SentinelOne reports. Active since late April, the campaign relies on a malware framework targeting credentials across multiple cloud environments and capable of propagating itself. SentinelOne has named the framework PCPJack, due to its focus on removing from the infected systems any tools and artifacts associated with TeamPCP, the hacking group behind a recent flurry of supply chain attacks targeting multiple open source software ecosystems. “Many of the services targeted by the PCPJack framework are similar to…

Carved over millennia by the pressure and motion of glacial ice, the valley walls cradling the Tracy Arm fjord in southeast Alaska continue to be reshaped. In summer 2025, following the rapid retreat of South Sawyer Glacier, a large landslide sent rock careening into the fjord, altering the wider landscape in a matter of minutes. The slide culminated on the morning of August 10, 2025, when at least 64 million cubic meters of rock slid downslope. Material entering the fjord induced a tsunami that stripped trees and other vegetation from the opposing fjord wall up to 1,578 feet (481 meters)…

Calvin Wankhede / Android AuthorityTL;DR GrapheneOS has patched an Android 16 VPN flaw that Google reportedly decided not to fix. The bug could let a malicious app leak small amounts of data outside an active VPN tunnel. In extreme cases, that means it’s possible stock Android users could have their IP address leaked, even with strict lockdown controls enabled. A VPN that can leak your location is a pretty big failure of the tech at the best of times, but it’s especially concerning when Android’s lockdown controls exist to reassure you that it won’t happen. That’s the problem GrapheneOS has…

The heart is a biological wonder. It beats roughly 2.5 billion times in an average lifetime. Unlike skin cells, which regularly die off and regrow, a healthy adult heart hardly regenerates at all—even through all the wear and tear. The heart has another superpower: Resistance to tumors. Nearly every tissue in the body turns cancerous, but the heart almost never does. Cancers in heart tissue show up in less than 0.3 percent of autopsies, or about 1.5 cases per million people each year. How the heart keeps cancer at bay has baffled researchers. Pinning down its hidden defenses could inspire treatments for…

Apple’s first foldable iPhone, expected to launch as the iPhone Ultra, is shaping up to tackle one of the biggest pain points in the category: repairability. According to a new leak, Apple is taking a surprisingly different approach to internal design that aims to make the device far easier to service than today’s foldables. Foldable phones like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold have long struggled with cramped internals and fragile ribbon cables, making repairs complex and expensive. However, Apple’s version reportedly leans heavily toward a modular internal layout, a design that reduces complexity rather than adding to it.…

One of the biggest complaints users have with Google TV is the default home screen. It’s cluttered with ads, suggested content, and distracting sections that constantly compete for your attention. And it’s not something you can easily ignore either. Even when you know what you want to watch, you still have to navigate through all that noise just to get there. Thankfully, you’re not out of options. An easy way to get around this is to replace the default experience with something like Arc Launcher. It’s a free, open-source launcher that gives your TV a minimal, customizable interface. Related How…

The TV industry is at a unique threshold. The top end is transitioning to technologies like RGB mini-LED and MicroLED, and could soon knock OLED off its throne. That and the rise of mini-LED is putting a lot of pressure on OLED prices, making it plausible to think about buying one as a “budget” option that nevertheless offers excellent picture quality. I use quotes because that is, of course, a relative term — you’ll be hard-pressed to find anything recent for less than $700. If you’re considering buying one of the cheaper OLED TVs out there, be cautious. You can…
