Listen to this audio excerpt from Ryan Schulte, Orion flywheel project manager: Your browser does not support the audio element. As the four Artemis II astronauts traveled on a 694,481-mile journey around the Moon and back, the Orion spacecraft provided them with all the essentials for deep space life, including daily exercise. The crew used an exercise device called the flywheel throughout their mission to maintain their physical and mental health, and Ryan Schulte, Orion flywheel project manager, led the team responsible for developing the flywheel for the historic flight. At NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, Schulte oversees the team that designed, built, tested, and flew the flywheel used on Artemis II, and currently develops a fleet of more reusable…

In 2019, The Mandalorian debuted on Disney+. It was the first-ever live-action Star Wars TV show, and people loved it immediately. The action was good, Grogu (aka Baby Yoda) instantly became an adorable icon, and there was a lot of novelty in watching a Star Wars story on the small screen. That novelty wore off pretty quickly over the next few years as Disney gave us more Star Wars spin-off shows like The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, The Acolyte, and Skeleton Crew. The Mandalorian plugged on, but it felt less special now that Disney had flooded the zone. Now…

Millions of remote access RDP and VNC servers are exposed to the internet, and hundreds of them may provide access to industrial control systems (ICS) and other operational technology (OT), according to research by Forescout. RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) and VNC (Virtual Network Computing) are widely used for remote access, but they should not be exposed directly to the open internet without a secure gateway. A Shodan search shows roughly 1.8 million RDP and 1.6 million VNC servers exposed on the internet, a majority in China and the United States. Forescout has determined that the majority are honeypots, ISPs, and…
Sign up to see the future, today Can’t-miss innovations from the bleeding edge of science and tech NASA administrator Jared Isaacman is necroposting about an age-old debate in astronomy that was considered officially settled two decades ago: whether Pluto should be counted as a planet. “I am very much in the camp of, ‘Make Pluto A Planet Again,’” Isaacman said during a Tuesday Senate hearing, as quoted by Space.com. While “MPAPA” doesn’t have quite the same ring to it as his president’s political slogan, it’s a position that Isaacman is apparently serious enough about to mobilize the minds at NASA…
The Moto G87 just made its clearest appearance on the internet, thanks to tipster Evan Blass. He has dropped high-quality renders of the upcoming Motorola mid-ranger on X (formerly known as Twitter), giving us our best look at the device ahead of its official launch. Given the price leaks last week and the renders today, it looks like the Moto G87 is gearing up for an imminent European launch, likely within the next few weeks. For now, the renders showcase the phone in two colors: dark gray or what the company might call Pantone Overture Gray, and a cyan/bright blue…
Shapes, an app where humans and AI characters chat together in shared group conversations, is emerging from stealth with $8 million in seed funding. Think Discord, but with AI characters alongside humans. Founded in 2022, Shapes has more than 400,000 monthly active users. The app’s founders, Anushk Mittal and Noorie Dhingra, believe that Shapes can address issues around “AI psychosis,” which refers to cases where prolonged interactions with AI chatbots or AI companions can cause individuals to develop delusions or paranoia. Instead of isolating people with one-on-one interactions with AI, Shapes allows people to connect with AI within their everyday…
Honor is preparing to announce its Watch 6 Plus smartwatch in the coming days or weeks, and to hype people up, the company shared a teaser poster, revealing the design and sharing a few key new features. Honor Watch 6 Plus teaser poster First off, the design doesn’t seem to be all that different compared to the Honor Watch 5 Ultra, but it does bring an improved battery life thanks to a larger battery. Honor markets 35 days of battery life, which, if true, will offer one of the longest battery lives in the industry, falling short only…
A critical-severity vulnerability in the open source AI gateway LiteLLM was exploited days after public disclosure to access database tables containing sensitive information, Sysdig reports. The security defect is described as an SQL injection during the proxy API key verification process and is identified as CVE-2026-42208, with a CVSS score of 9.3. In an April 20 advisory, LiteLLM’s maintainers explained that a database query used during key verification did not pass the caller-supplied value as a separate parameter, including it in the query instead. This allowed an unauthenticated attacker to send a specially crafted Authorization header to any LLM API…
