The Bitwarden command-line interface (CLI) NPM package was compromised in a supply chain attack that appears tied to previous campaigns against the open source software (OSS) ecosystem. One of the most popular open source password management platforms, with over 250,000 monthly downloads, Bitwarden allows enterprises to secure authentication with zero-knowledge encryption, password sharing, and policy and credential management. On Thursday, multiple security firms warned that version 2026.4.0 of the Bitwarden CLI’s NPM package contained malicious code to fetch a JavaScript payload designed to steal credentials and secrets from victim machines. The malicious package contained an altered execution path to run…
This shimmering region of star-formation, a close-up of the Trifid Nebula about 5,000 light-years from Earth, was captured in intricate detail by NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope in an image released on April 20, 2026. The colors in Hubble’s visible light image, which marks the 36th anniversary of the mission’s launch on April 24, are reminiscent of an underwater scene filled with fine-grained sediments fluttering through the ocean’s depths. Several massive stars, which are outside this field of view, have shaped this region for at least 300,000 years. Their powerful winds continue to blow an enormous bubble, a small portion of which is shown…
The Samsung Galaxy S26 series started off with strong pre-orders in late March and held its prices for a while, but now the flagship trio has settled at a new normal. The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is by far the most popular model of the three, in part due to having the unique Privacy Display, but also because of the inherent advantage of the Ultra model. Earlier this week, we published an S26 Ultra vs. S26+ comparison article. We have also compared the new Ultra with the S25 Ultra and pitted it against the iPhone 17 Pro Max. …
Andy Walker / Android AuthorityIf you’re struggling with connection issues on Android Auto, you’ll already know how difficult it is to keep one phone connected, let alone two.I share my car with my fiancée, and we both use Android Auto on our respective devices: her Galaxy S10 Plus and my Galaxy S24 FE. But when it comes time for one of us to drive the car and the other’s phone connects instead of the driver’s, it can be a little annoying. Do you use wireless Android Auto?2 votesYes, I prefer using wireless Android Auto.50%No, I prefer using wired Android Auto.50%But,…
CrowdStrike and Tenable informed customers this week about potentially serious vulnerabilities found and patched in their products. CrowdStrike published an advisory for CVE-2026-40050, a critical unauthenticated path traversal vulnerability affecting its LogScale product. The flaw can allow a remote attacker to read arbitrary files from the server filesystem. The cybersecurity giant pointed out that Next-Gen SIEM customers are not affected and the vulnerability has been mitigated for LogScale SaaS customers. LogScale Self-hosted customers have been advised to update to a patched version. CrowdStrike said the vulnerability was discovered internally and there is no evidence of exploitation in the wild based…
FutureThe People Do Not Yearn for AutomationNilay Patel | The Verge”Not everything about our lives can be measured and automated and optimized, and it shouldn’t be. And so the tech industry is rushing forward to put AI everywhere at enormous cost—energy, emissions, manufacturing capacity, the ability to buy RAM—and locked into the narrow framework of software brain without realizing they are also asking people to be fundamentally less human.”BIOTECHNOLOGYAI-Designed Drugs by a DeepMind Spinoff Are Headed to Human TrialsEmily Mullin | Wired ($)”In a technical paper [released earlier this year], the company touts that the [new IsoDDE] platform more than doubles…

Asus Zenbook A14: Two-minute reviewThe Asus Zenbook A14 is a light and compact laptop that promises to be the ideal travel companion. Its soft, minimalist appearance is appealing. There are no unnecessary contours or protrusions on any surface, and the rounded corners make it look less austere than many other laptops, especially in its light beige finish. That aesthetic is complimented by the extremely light and slender frame, which helps to…
Between A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, an Eragon series at Disney+, a Fourth Wing adaptation at Prime Video, and more, we’re on the cusp of an expensive new generation of fantasy shows. And when they all start airing, studios will have to deal with something that didn’t used to be a factor: the authors who wrote the books that these shows are based on are far more willing than they used to be to call the series out when they start deviating from the source material. This newfound boldness has already created problems for several big-name fantasy series, but…
I’m a reluctant Spotify user. The company doesn’t pay musicians as well as it ought to, which is one reason some of my favorite artists have gone AWOL. It also doesn’t do enough to prevent AI slop from infiltrating playlists, and being someone with a number of Apple devices in my household, I’d benefit from Apple Music’s platform integration. The truth is, though, that Spotify still does some vital things right, or at least better than the other streaming services out there. I sometimes consider making the leap to YouTube Music, given that my wife uses it, and I’m already…
The Trump administration is vowing to crack down on foreign tech companies’ exploitation of U.S. artificial intelligence models, singling out China at a time that country is narrowing the gap with the U.S. in the AI race. In a Thursday memo, Michael Kratsios, the president’s chief science and technology adviser, accused foreign entities “principally based in China” of engaging in deliberate, industrial-scale campaigns to “distill,” or extract capabilities from, leading AI systems made in the U.S. and “exploiting American expertise and innovation.” The administration, Kratsios wrote, will work with American AI companies to identify such activities, build defenses and find…
