How I’m streaming The Vampire Lestat premiere this weekend for free

The first weekend in June is finally here and if you’re a fan of the Vampire Chronicles, that means you’ll probably be spending your Sunday with the one and only Lestat during the premiere of The Vampire Lestat, the newly-retitled third season of AMC’s hugely-successful Interview with the Vampire adaptation.

This new season adapts Anne Rice’s second book (of the same name) and debuts June 7 at 7PM on AMC and on AMC+. Currently, there is no time set for the AMC+ premiere, but if history is any indication, streamers will be able to watch this new series first as episodes typically drop at 3AM EST on premiere day in the app.

After this weekend’s premiere, new episodes will then drop weekly on Sundays over the following six weeks over the season’s 7-episode run, with the Season 3 finale set to debut on Sunday, July 19. And while it is not possible to watch all of The Vampire Lestat for free on AMC+ as it releases, depending on how you time it you can watch the first (and possibly the second) for free. Here’s how:

    notable shows

Interview with the Vampire, The Vampire Lestat, The Walking Dead, Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad

    Subscription with ads

    $8

    Premium Subscription

    $11

    Free trial

    Yes

    Ad plans

    Yes

AMC+ is currently offering a weeklong free trial

Sign up Sunday afternoon and you can catch both the first and second episodes for free

I’m a big fan of free trials, and like most small streaming services, AMC+ is offering new subscribers the chance to check out the service for free. Though I’d like to be among the first to check out The Vampire Lestat this weekend, I’m going to wait until later in the day to sign up for a free trial, that way I can stream the premiere episode this Sunday, and then quickly check out episode 2 the second it drops next week before my card is charged.

Since The Vampire Lestat runs from now until mid-July if I want to keep the service, I’ll still need to pay for two months of the service, which is $8 a month on its ad-supported tier or $11 per month on its ad-free premium level. This seems like a reasonable cost for a streaming service with multiple things you want to watch on it, but if you’re only interested in The Vampire Lestat, you may have another options.

In the past, individual Interview with the Vampire episodes (as well as a season pass) have available to purchase on digital VOD platforms like Apple TV, Fandango at Home and Amazon Prime Video following the initial streaming (and broadcast) premiere. Listings for The Vampire Lestat are not live yet, but if you are interested in pursuing this route, check your favorite VOD platform Sunday evening for information on pricing and release times.

When is The Vampire Lestat going to stream on Netflix?

    2027 at the earliest

When it comes to AMC shows making their way to Netflix, the rule seems to be the more successful a show is, the longer it takes for it to come to the streamer. So while it only took a few weeks for the canceled Vampire Chronicles spinoff Talamasca: The Secret Order to come to the service, the much more popular Interview With the Vampire season 2 took over a year to make the leap from AMC+ to Netflix. And if The Vampire Lestat follows a similar trajectory, we won’t be seeing it joing the Netflix lineup until fall 2027 at the earliest.
