Huawei unveiled its new-look Pura series this week. The Pura X Max foldable caught the most eyeballs with its shorter and wider design, which many think matches the much-anticipated iPhone Fold. The Huawei Pura X Max features a 5.4” cover and 7.7” internal display. The relatively square inner display supports the M-Pen 3 Mini stylus. It fits in a special case for the phone. The Pura X Max packs a 5,300mAh battery with 66W wired and 50W wireless charging, and runs a Kirin 9030 Pro SoC.

The Pura 90 Pro Max and 90 Pro also caught readers’ attention. They were joined by the Pura 90. All three phones have 120Hz LTPO OLED displays (6.9-inch for the Pro Max, 6.6-inch for the Pro, 6.8-inch for the 90), as well as triple rear cameras, and large batteries – 6,000 for the Pro and Pro Max, a larger 6,500mAh for the 90.

Motorola unveiled the Edge 70 Pro with a 6,500mAh battery and a Dimensity 8500 Extreme. There are three 50MP cameras onboard – a wide-angle main unit and ultrawide, and a selfie upfront. The Motorola Edge 70 Pro is priced at INR 38,999 ($415) for the 8GB/256GB variant.

Huawei Pura X Max unveiled: larger displays with stylus support, slimmer build

The X Max goes from a 6.3″ inner display on the Pura X to a 7.7″ display and from 15.1mm thick to 11.2mm thick. It has a larger battery than its sibling too.

Pura 90 Pro Max is also the first Huawei phone with a LOFIC main camera sensor.

The phone gets a 50MP dual-rear camera setup.

The Oppo Find X9 Ultra is here with dual 200MP cameras – one for the 23mm main camera, one for the 70mm zoom camera, as well as two 50MP shooters for the 14mm ultrawide, and 230mm 10x optical zoom. Powering the Ultra is a 7,050mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. The Oppo Find X9 Ultra is going global with a price tag of €1,699 ($1,999) for the 12GB/512GB variant.

Honor also unveiled the 600 and 600 Pro, and both are going global. The newest members in Honor’s lineup bring a revamped design that takes some clear inspiration from the iPhone 17 Pro series, with the oversized camera island and vibrant orange colorway. But outside of the iPhone look, Honor’s new phones offer impressive batteries, top-tier IP69K ingress protection, and 200MP main cams. The pair has a similar specs sheet with the same 6.57-inch display and the same 7,000mAh batteries (6,400mAh in Europe). Where the pair differs is in the cameras and chipsets – the vanilla lacks a dedicated zoom, and has a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC, while the Pro has a 50Mp 3.5x zoom camera, and the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Prices start from MYR 2,599 ($657/€560 converted) for the 600 and MYR 3,099 ($784/€667 converted) for the Pro.
