Announced at Computex earlier this year, the Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra is finally available for pre-order. The flagship laptop is powered by Nvidia’s RTX Spark SoC and is set to compete with Apple’s rumored MacBook Ultra.
The Surface Laptop Ultra is currently available to pre-order through Microsoft’s official online store and select retailers worldwide. It starts at $2,599, with open sales beginning October 16.
Customers can get up to $1,000 cashback when trading in an eligible MacBook Pro while purchasing the Surface Laptop Ultra.
Microsoft has also revealed pricing for the Surface RTX Spark Dev Box, which costs $5,999. It is also available for pre-order in the US and will begin shipping in November.
The Nvidia RTX Spark SoC powering the Surface Laptop Ultra features a Blackwell RTX GPU with up to 6,144 cores and an Nvidia Grace CPU with up to 20 cores. It is paired with 128GB of unified memory.
Alongside the powerful chipset, the laptop features a 15-inch mini-LED touchscreen display with up to 25 percent higher peak HDR brightness than the MacBook Pro M5, according to Microsoft.
Meanwhile, the Surface RTX Spark Dev Box is aimed at competing with Apple’s Mac Studio and Mac mini. It offers up to 1 petaflop of AI performance and 128GB of unified memory, while using the same RTX Spark SoC as the Surface Laptop Ultra.
