Semianalysis has calculated the tokenomics of OpenAI and Anthropic at $100 billion per year per gigawatt. Microsoft can also monetize at $100 Billion per yaer per gigawatt. Microsoft has full access to OpenAI models. They can generate the exact same revenue and margin per MW, while paying none of the training costs. The deal reworked in April 2026 dropped the old 20% revenue share from the equation. Microsoft has a giant incentive to procure as many MWs as possible, as fast as possible. While much of their datacenter capacity currently goes to OpenAI at ~14M/MW/year, they have the opportunity to improve that mix. The potential impact is Microsoft Azure accelerating revenue growth from ~42% to over 100% by next year. A once-in-a-generation opportunity, that SpaceX is incredibly well positioned to serve.
Semianalysis has also looked at thousands of data center locations and all of the power generation available to SpaceX. They believe 10 gigawatts of completed AI data center is possible for SpaceX.
SpaceX could also join Anthropic, OpenAi and Microsoft in the $100+ billion per year per gigawatt club. SpaceX could end 2027 at nearly a $1 trillion per year ARR runrate.
IF Microsoft leases the AI from SpaceX then Microsoft will end 2027 with over $300 billion of ARR AI Azure runrate.
