Oppo offers behind-the-scenes look at how it achieved Find N6’s crease-less display

Oppo is bragging about the crease-less display on the upcoming Find N6 ahead of its launch in March. That is still a couple of weeks away, but the company let reporters visit its production line, offering a rare glimpse behind the scenes.

The N6 design is the result of three years of work and dozens of prototypes. The refined assembly process includes dozens of new inspection steps to ensure that each component is installed within a tolerance of 0.03mm.

The size of the crease on a foldable phone is not a constant thing – it tends to become bigger with use. However, Oppo has set up an automated testing stand where devices are closed and opened 300,000 times.

One unit, which was in the middle of testing, had undergone 170,000 fold/unfold cycles when it was given to the reporter for inspection – and the crease still wasn’t noticeable.

We’d like to see this for ourselves, of course, but Oppo has more than a fluff piece to prove its progress – the Find N6 reportedly aced TÜV Rheinland’s tests and had the flattest display on a foldable yet. Speaking of the display, the inner panel is said to measure 8.12”, while the cover panel is 6.62” (these dimensions haven’t been officially confirmed yet).

Leaked info suggests that the N6 will have a quad camera tuned by Hasselblad that features a 200MP sensor. The phone is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and a 6,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging.
