Our favourite affordable 4K dash cam is cheaper still thanks to this 34% discount on Amazon right now

Mounting one of the best dash cams on your windscreen can be one of the most valuable in-car upgrades you can make, as it will keep its eyes on the road ahead (and behind as well, depending on the model) to ensure you’re protected should anything bad happen while you’re driving.

Fortunately, you don’t need to spend a fortune to get a top-performing model, as the Miofive S1 proves. It’s maintained a prime spot on our list of the best dash cams in Australia for its ability to record clear 4K footage without breaking the bank. That’s now especially the case as the Miofive S1 has received a 34% discount at Amazon for a limited time.

This discount applies to a single camera unit, but you can also save on the S1 Pro and S1 Ultra bundles, which add either a 2.5K or 4K rear camera into the mix.

As our tester said in our Miofive S1 review, “I was mightily impressed with the video quality, which packed plenty of detail and none of the grainy noise low-priced dash cams often suffer with.” Video footage can be stored on a microSD card and, handily, a 32GB card is included in the price, representing even greater value.

Both the S1 Pro and S1 Ultra camera packages are also on sale, adding a rear camera into the mix for total surveillance around your car. The S1 Pro adds a 2.5K resolution rear camera for AU$135.99 (that’s 15% off), while the S1 Ultra gets a 4K rear camera for AU$163.19.

The S1 series also supports a parking mode that will see the camera spring to life when a collision is detected while the car is switched off. Although, as is the case with many other dash cam models, it requires a hardwiring cable (sold separately).

Our main niggle with the camera is that it only records at 30fps rather than the smoother 60fps, but our review footage proves that the road ahead remains clear and visible, even at night.

We don’t know how long this deal will last, as it appears to be a Lightning Deal with limited stock available. If you’ve been eyeing up a dash cam for your car, this model at this price would be our top recommendation.
