Last month, Realme announced its flagship GT 8 Pro in China with a novel design approach. The back features a removable lens cover that allows for easy customization and different styles, ranging from round to square and robot styles, with various color and material finishes.

Ahead of the GT 8 Pro’s global launch, Realme shared some additional information regarding the GT 8 Pro’s switchable camera bump and its other key design features.

The lens cover on the GT 8 Pro is held in place with two screws, which allow users to experiment with different styles. While Realme will offer first-party camera bumps, more tech-savvy users will be able to create their own unique 3D printed designs.

Realme is also implementing subtle contrasting colors on the “robot-themed” lens module underneath the camera lens cover for added style.

The Switchable Camera Bump is a boldly different approach. It offers the joy of handicrafts and the freedom of combination, much like building blocks. This isn’t just a feature; it’s our blueprint for redefining flagship design: diverse, personalized, and true to the user. – Chase Xu, CMO and Vice President of Realme

Realme GT 8 Pro will be available in Diary White and Urban Blue colors. Besides the removable camera bump, GT 8 Pro also brings a new “paper-like” back finish on the Urban Blue variant of the GT 8 Pro. Realme implemented a new process that uses recycled plastics and textiles. The back cover also features organic dyes and a spray-applied organic silicone coating, which Realme proudly claims is able to achieve 0.02mm precision engraving.

In addition to the GT 8 Pro’s impressive design, Realme confirmed that the global variant will feature the same key specs as the China model, including the same 7,000mAh battery with 120W wired and 50W wireless charging and IP66, IP68, and IP69 ingress protection. Realme has yet to reveal the exact date for the GT 8 Pro’s global launch, but we should be getting more details in the coming days.
