Ever since Trump Mobile announced the T1 Phone, many of us were left wondering whether it’s going to happen at all. The T1 Phone is still wrapped in mystery, and it’s constantly getting delayed. However, The Verge managed to speak to two executives at the company – Don Hendrickson and Eric Thomas, who gave some extra details of the future device.

First of all, the T1 Phone isn’t dead. It’s just that Trump Mobile is going through some hurdles, and as a result, the handset’s release is constantly getting delayed.

Some last minute changes to the design and hardware are the reason why. The updated chassis has a more prominent camera island with three vertically stacked camera sensors, but the execs said that the T1 logo is going away. The gold paint job and the American flag are here to stay. Moreover, the official website now states that the handset is only assembled in the US, but components are manufactured elsewhere, without giving any more details. We wouldn’t be surprised if most of the hardware is sourced from China.

Additionally, the chipset on board will be from the mid-range Snapdragon 7 series paired with 512GB expandable storage, with support for up to 1TB microSD cards. A 5,000 mAh battery will provide all the juice.

The camera hardware on the back will include a 50MP main sensor, joined by a dedicated zoom shooter and an ultrawide camera. The front-facing cam will also be 50MP.

The pricing is still unclear, but the execs said it will slot in between $500 and $1,000 – definitely above the promised $499 price tag. Customers who placed a $100 deposit will pay $499 total, though.

Even though Trump Mobile claims that the handset will feel and perform like a flagship phone, asking more than $1,000 sounds like a bit of a stretch, given that the smartphone market is moving fast, and a mid-range SoC with a basic camera setup and a 5,000 mAh battery just won’t cut it in 2026.
