Cybersecurity firm TigerByte Cyber has emerged from stealth mode with $3 million raised in a seed funding round led by Hale Capital Partners, with additional support from Tenon VC.

Hanover, NH-based TigerByte Cyber provides cyber hardening for AI and edge devices to protect systems where they operate.

The company has built a solution that provides modern cybersecurity protections to legacy systems, including mission-critical edge devices.

Named Cyber Protection Suite (CPS), it is an ultra-compact plug-and-play solution that delivers hardware-enforced cybersecurity capabilities, including data validation, deep packet inspection, network segmentation, and post-quantum encryption.

The company’s solutions appear to be using the core technology developed by WebSensing, which specialized in single-chip network security products. Founded in 2016, WebSensing appears to have transitioned both products and personnel to the new branding.

TigerByte Cyber will use the fresh funding to scale its technology to modernize communication and navigation systems across military and commercial aircraft, drones, satellites, and vehicles. The company will also expand its US manufacturing capabilities.

The company has already secured over $7 million in contracts with US government agencies, including the US Space Force, the US Navy, and DARPA.

“We founded TigerByte Cyber to bring the principles of modern cloud security to the edge, where mission-critical systems operate with limited protection and no margin for failure,” said TigerByte Cyber CEO Sage Secilmis.

“By combining multiple DARPA-developed technologies, such as post-quantum encryption, data validation, and formal parsing, we are creating a new foundation for autonomous, resilient systems that can operate with complete confidence, maintain data integrity, and remain secure without disruption,” Secilmis added.
