After announcing the V80 Lite at the start of September, vivo started teasing the V80 with promises of a phone that can capture “cinematic moments”. The date was set for October 6, so it’s finally time to reveal the new model.
The company has already confirmed some key details for the vivo V80. It will have a 6.59” 1.5K OLED display with 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 5,000 nits. The phone will be equipped with a 7,200mAh battery with 90W charging. For comparison, its identically sized predecessor, the V70, had a 6,500mAh battery (with the same 90W charging).
The V80 will have four ZEISS-branded cameras, starting with a 50MP selfie with an ultra-wide 92° lens (0.8x-2x zoom) with autofocus. On the back, a 50MP main with a 1/1.56” Sony Lytia 700V sensor with CIPA 4.5 OIS, a 50MP 3x telephoto with a 1/1.95” Sony IMX882 sensor and OIS and an ultra-wide camera. The phone will feature 4K Cinematic Video with 4K @ 60fps support.

There are still details left to be revealed – what chipset will replace the V70’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4? What will be the price? This launch is led by vivo India – when will the V80 be available in other markets? Also, this will be our first look at OriginOS 7 (based on Android 17) outside of China. So, tune in for the live unveiling below:
