Quick question – which is safer? Android or iOS? A lot of people would instinctively pick the latter, and argue that it’s Apple’s ‘walled garden’ approach that makes it so – in fact, Apple itself keeps saying something like that every time the EU is trying to make it open up some other part of its ecosystem. But things are not always what they seem. And at least in one specific way, Android is actually safer than iOS. We’re talking about protection from scams. A YouGov study says iOS users are 65% more likely than Android users to report receiving…

Researchers at Meta FAIR and the University of Edinburgh have developed a new technique that can predict the correctness of a large language model's (LLM) reasoning and even intervene to fix its mistakes. Called Circuit-based Reasoning Verification (CRV), the method looks inside an LLM to monitor its internal “reasoning circuits” and detect signs of computational errors as the model solves a problem.Their findings show that CRV can detect reasoning errors in LLMs with high accuracy by building and observing a computational graph from the model's internal activations. In a key breakthrough, the researchers also demonstrated they can use this deep…

Our eyes naturally adjust to the visual world. From reading small fonts on a screen to scanning lush greenery in the great outdoors, they automatically change their focus to see everything near and far. This is a far cry from camera systems. Even top-of-the-line offerings, such as full-frame mirrorless cameras, require multiple bulky lenses to cover a wide range of focal lengths. For example, photographers use telephoto lenses to film wildlife at a distance and macro lenses to capture the fine details of small things up close—say, a drop of morning dew on a flower. In contrast, our eyes are made of…

Apple unveiled the M5-powered iPad Pro earlier this month, and now the folks over at iFixit have disassembled one in order to take a look at its insides and ascertain how repairable it actually is. It’s the 13″ model, by the way, which is just 5.1mm thick. That thinness in itself makes repairs harder, since every component needs to be insanely tightly packed, with the screen mounted flush against the internals. And the only way to get in is through the screen, unfortunately. Obviously, taking the screen off without cracking it isn’t easy to do, but at least Apple is…

“New powers for you” rings the official Grammarly blog, revealing that it’s about to become something known as Superhuman. After purchasing an AI email client known as Superhuman back in July 2025, Grammarly is now changing the name of its whole operation to match, bringing much more AI to your writing than ever before. While I find its new name rather amusing, Grammarly’s pole-vault headfirst into the depths of AI could actually be the perfect middle-ground solution many people have been waiting for. Instead of using a full AI browser or copying and pasting your work into ChatGPT for spelling,…

Joe Maring / Android AuthorityTL;DR Google has released new October builds for the Pixel line. The tech giant has yet to say what these builds are for. The update is available for the Pixel 7 and up. Google released the October 2025 update in the middle of the second week of the month. While it meant that we had to wait a few extra days, that’s not uncommon. Something a little less common is that the tech giant is now sending out another October build as we await the November 2025 update. Don’t want to miss the best from Android…

The rise of AI marks a critical shift away from decades defined by information-chasing and a push for more and more compute power. Canva co-founder and CPO Cameron Adams refers to this dawning time as the “imagination era.” Meaning: Individuals and enterprises must be able to turn creativity into action with AI.  Canva hopes to position itself at the center of this shift with a sweeping new suite of tools. The company’s new Creative Operating System (COS) integrates AI across every layer of content creation, creating a single, comprehensive creativity platform rather than a simple, template-based design tool.“We’re entering a new era…

Illustration by Tag Hartman-Simkins / Futurism. Source: Yoshikazu Tsuno/Gamma-Rapho via Getty Images OpenAI’s extraordinary private valuation of $500 billion simply wasn’t enough. After completing its restructuring into a for-profit corporate entity this week, Reuters reports that OpenAI is already setting plans into motion to become a publicly traded company. The move will almost certainly skyrocket the ChatGPT maker’s already colossal touted value. Three people familiar with the matter told the outlet that the Sam Altman-led company is preparing for an initial public offering that could push its worth as high as $1 trillion — showing that it expects to have…

Why you can trust TechRadar We spend hours testing every product or service we review, so you can be sure you’re buying the best. Find out more about how we test. Corsair Novablade Pro: One-minute reviewI’ve spent the past week testing the Corsair Novablade Pro, and I’ve come away extremely impressed with this leverless fighting game controller. Like the more budget-friendly 8BitDo Arcade Controller and other contenders for the best fight stick, there’s no traditional joystick here; opting instead for a pure button layout that handles everything from movement to motion inputs. What’s immediately striking about the Novablade Pro is its…

A new training framework developed by researchers at Tencent AI Lab and Washington University in St. Louis enables large language models (LLMs) to improve themselves without requiring any human-labeled data. The technique, called R-Zero, uses reinforcement learning to generate its own training data from scratch, addressing one of the main bottlenecks in creating self-evolving AI systems. R-Zero works by having two independent models co-evolve by interacting with and challenging each other.Experiments show that R-Zero substantially improves reasoning capabilities across different LLMs, which could lower the complexity and costs of training advanced AI. For enterprises, this approach could accelerate the development of specialized models for complex…
