Commercial space stations are rapidly moving from concept to reality. As NASA prepares for the International Space Station’s retirement around 2030, a burgeoning private orbital industry could step into its shoes. The ISS was humanity’s only permanent outpost in space for nearly a quarter of a century, until China’s Tiangong station was permanently crewed in 2022. But the ISS is nearing the end of its planned lifespan and NASA’s been clear that it doesn’t intend to replace the space station.Instead, the agency wants to shift from landlord to tenant, purchasing space station services from private players rather than running a facility…

Motorola is a slightly under-the-radar brand that doesn’t always get the credit it deserves. Many Motorola phones offer AI features that are genuinely useful in everyday life, not just nice-to-have additions. Since I started using the Motorola Edge 70, it has only gotten better. Over time, I’ve found myself relying on these five AI features that you might not know about, or may know but haven’t really used. Confirmed: Harlan Coben’s Run Away is the most fun you can have on New Year’s Day without leaving your sofa. In truth, it wouldn’t be a festive veg-out session if a new Harlan Coben mystery wasn’t waiting for us, with Fool Me Once taking Netflix by storm in 2024. I’m no psychic, but I predict the same happening with Run Away. Why? We’re returning to the tried-and-tested formula of book…
The adoption rate of AI tools has skyrocketed in the programming world, enabling coders to generate vast amounts of code with simple text prompts. Earlier this year, Google found that 90 percent of software developers across the industry are using AI tools on the job, up from a mere 14 percent last year. But all that convenience has come with some glaring drawbacks. The tools have repeatedly been found to be unreliable and inaccurate, which can lead to mistakes falling through the cracks and even forcing some programmers to put in long hours to identify and correct them. Adding to…

Xiaomi’s 2025 was filled with great products across a wide range of categories. Gone are the days when the brand was playing catch-up to the likes of Apple and Samsung, as Xiaomi proved it is forging its own path across more than just smartphones. Xiaomi is one of the fastest-growing EV brands in China, and the success of its very first vehicle – the SU7 is shaping up to be an even bigger hit. But smartphones are still Xiaomi’s bread and butter, so let’s kick off the list with one of our favourite devices of the year. Winner: Xiaomi 15…
China has built a prototype EUV (extreme ultraviolent) lithography machine in a high-security laboratory in Shenzhen. They had a semiconductor Manhattan Project”. The prototype was completed in early 2025 and is now undergoing testing. It occupies nearly an entire factory floor and was assembled using reverse-engineered components. Ramp-up timeline Functional for chip production around 2028.More realistic full mass-production capability is around 2030 or later. In 2030, ASML/TSMC are expected to be on high-NA EUV or next-gen nodes. Verdict The PIXMA TS7150i is that rarest of things; a Canon inkjet multifunction that we don’t particularly like. While there’s not much wrong with its print quality, and the automatic document feeder on top is certainly handy, it’s not much of an improvement on cheaper models in the range. Unfortunately, it also comes with high running costs. For all but the lightest of use, the Canon PIXMA TS7550i is probably a multifunction to avoid. Fairly good set of features Excellent print and scan quality Not particularly quick Very expensive to run Squirrel Widget Key Features Review Price: £85 A three-in-one…
The default settings on your Samsung phone are good enough to get you started, but not ideal if you want to make the most of it. Inside that boring-looking Settings menu, there are several useful settings and tweaks that most people overlook. Changing the right settings can unlock smoother performance, better notifications, and controls that make your life easier. Personally, I regret not discovering some of these settings earlier, but now that I have, I can’t recommend them enough. Enabling notification categories Fine-tune app alerts the right way Most apps these days let you set notification preferences, but they’re usually…
