This is the nextbigfuture GDP forecast scenario, not an IMF, Anthropic, or consensus forecast. It took the Anthropic economic forecasts for their base case and their bullish case. I then aligned national data for Taiwan and other countries as of this year. I then used OpenAI GPT 6 to build the scenario where AI productivity takes off and where physical with robotaxi, robotrucking and humanoid bots take off.
Something to remember is that in WW2, the US sustained 18% annual GDP growth for about four years with the spending and productivity from military mobilization. China had 8% to 14% annual GDP growth for over 20 to 30 years from 1980 to about 2010.
14× means the level of nominal world GDP in 2037 equals 14 times its 2027 level, an increase of 1,300%. It does not mean 14% growth or a 14-fold annual growth rate.
World GDP rises from $134.63 trillion in 2027 to $1884.80 trillion in 2037. The ten-year nominal-dollar CAGR is 30.20%.
NOTE: Taiwan national statistics already report 11.2% GDP growth this year with the strength of TSMC making them a $1 trillion economy on track to $1.2 trillion in 2027.
Continuity and interpretation
The original 37-country GDP paths and world totals are preserved through 2031. The video starts at the same point as the trimmed 2× version: two source seconds into the 2024–2025 transition. Each subsequent year retains seven seconds of counter motion and three seconds of hold. The new 2032–2037 segment adds 60 seconds; a short final hold and eight-second result card complete the 145-second video.
Keeping world GDP at $181.21T in 2031 requires 47.75% average annual nominal growth over 2032–2037. This replaces the earlier medium-case continuation with a much more aggressive second phase.
The existing chart measures current-dollar nominal GDP. Accordingly the 14× constraint is imposed in that same unit. It is not asserted to be 14× real production. From 2032 onward a common 2% GDP deflator and constant exchange rates are optional accounting assumptions for the implied real-growth calculation; they are not independent forecasts. A 14× real-output target would require a different, larger nominal-dollar endpoint if prices rise.
How differentiation works
The US captures frontier platforms, model monetization, automation and energy buildout. Taiwan captures advanced logic, packaging and production automation; South Korea captures memory, robotics and industrial adoption. Their log-growth scores are 1.45, 1.60 and 1.50, respectively: the three strongest modeled growth paths. These are scenario judgments, not measured scores.
Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and India gain from adoption, services, electronics and regional supply chains. China has a strong domestic AI and manufacturing ecosystem but a lower assigned score than the leaders, consistent with the requested weaker monetization. No new China chip-production constraint is mechanically extrapolated beyond 2031.
Canada, Australia, the Gulf states, Norway and selected resource exporters outperform the slowest adopters only where energy can be converted into reliable power, infrastructure and domestic value added. Energy ownership alone is insufficient.
Continental European growth is slower relative to this unusually fast world. The UK, Netherlands, Switzerland, Ireland and Nordics receive stronger scores than Italy, France or Germany. These exceptions reflect services adoption, semiconductor equipment and power advantages described in the attachment. Even the slower countries grow rapidly in absolute terms.
Falling behind means losing relative share, not necessarily shrinking.
